It's a real pity that no real successor of Leander Paes-Mahesh Bhupathi has emerged in India till date. India always threw up at least one international-level tennis-player in regular intervals - for instance, Ramanathan Krishnan-Vijay Amritraj-Ramesh Krishnan-Paes-Bhupathi etc. But for the last few decades, there has been a real drought.

The last time I checked, the players you mentioned were playing in the last few decades. So, what do you mean by there was a drought in last few decades ?

The injury was seen by millions on the TV and you call it an excuse. Do you understand anything about Cricket or injuries ?
