Wish you best of luck Mr Kaushik. So what happens to omnipotent Mr Gill ? I have been out of touch with hockey news. Has he been fired? Has he been shown the door? I wish he is.
if u look at all the big wins india have ever had in sport(indidual or team sport), you are only looking at a few wins - here they are - anand's world titles, geet's world titles, 2 all england titles(one by prakash in the 1980's, one by gopi in this decade), bindra's gold at beijing in 08, 2 world titles in cricket and 8 olympic titles and a world title in hockey.when i say big - i mean pinnacle. basically, there is not a single sport in india's history, that has seen success like hockey although the competition at the time of india's success was nowhere near the competition in the last 25 years.the 1980 olympic gold was diluted coz of boycott and once with dhyanchand, there were only 3 teams that competed(including india)at the olympics.hockey is a domain of australia, holland and germany and these three did not compete at india's success time.
