Poor Sania!
by shiva on Sep 10, 2008 06:57 AM  | Hide replies

Those who saw Serena celebrate after victory would be jolted out of their seats. The world will never be the same again! Jumping high & with such vigour to cause a quake with never a thought for feminine modesty!

William sisters have taken this beautiful game to another level! Just to see them across the net will be enough for many to take cover including most males! And then, the high decibel levels & shrieks.

Martina & Mauresmo come closest to them for masculanity & with their sexual orientaion. No wonder the earlier avatar of Hingis told of playing "a half-man" after losing to the latter! It might have driven her to extreme steps to have a real chance & she paid the price.

Do Sania & others have a chance in front of these goliaths? Unless, they have the touch of a silken Federer! Ramesh Krishnan used to caress the ball, not to hurt it & rose high in rankings despite some power players.

Hopefully, a Federer will rise from the women at least for old-timers' sake!

Hey Shiva,
The particular macth you are talking about was won by Hingis not by "half man". For records, it was finals of Australian Open.

Super Senera - The Champion

The articles explains how hard it must have been for Serena to become the World No 1. The top 3 in Men's section are almost fixed. Whereas, in women's section, there is a tough competition. As such, the achievement of Serena Williams is all the more important.

Though, as an Indian, I feel sorry for missing our Sania, it is very good to watch a wonderful competition among Tennis stars.

Sania is a waste !! Much ado about nothing !!!. She is a glam doll and nothing else. There is no point in expecting anything from her. Can't see any commitment from her . Girls who were behind her in rankings at some point in time have moved poles ahead of her . Ana Ivanovic for example

Hi Ananth,
you are waste, what are your achievments in sports. Man, she is the only one in tennis in our country who has gone this far and has made the country proud. She is over hyped because we don't have enough heroes, people in our country are just fighting for survival and rest wasting time on rediff ( me too)

so man instead of balming her start from ur family and start producing spotrsman/woman and then stand up say Sania is going up or down in ranking.

One more thing, I am from Kaluwas Village and my village mate Vijender has got a bronze medal in Olympics and my younger brother is also into boxing..

I agree with Ananth reg Sania. Agreed that she brought lot of attention for Indian Women's Tennis n there is no women player who could match her in India right now. But as a matter of fact.. when Sania reached 32 in the world.. Jankovic was 29. I said to my friends that Jankovic will move up n Sania down..! Jankovic reached the top. Problem is.. Sania was intoxicated by the too much hype.. money from ad n heard that she even asked for land from AP govt to set up a tennis academy. Look at her age..? It is the age to achieve lot of things. She just wants to use her glam.. get free land n set up tennis academy n earn from it n marry a rich man n settle down. With her big serve n big forehand she must try to be in the top 15. She does not have any motivation to achieve.. n just contended to make many using the hype. When she did well against top players.. she must have changed her location to US n got into a good training. Anyways.. dunno what to say. She has done a lot for women's tennis.. but failed to achieve greater things which she could have done with the talent she possessed on court.

No point in abusing Sania. She cant help it since She is limited. She may the best among Indians but not good enough for world level. India needs to find new Tennis talent. It is OK if Sania makes money with endorsements. There must be some incentives for youngsters to take to Tennis and dedicate themselves.
