Where is Anand ???
by Prabhakar KRISHNA on Oct 19, 2008 09:23 AM

How popular is basketball. baseball or american football outside USA but Us players of these games get terrific exposure in US media. Here we have Ananad, a reigning World champion and his win does not fid mention in the rediff highlights !!!???

none is permanent no.1. even gods get replaced with new one. Roger Federer is mortal and just one of the top tennis players.

I am struggling to find the news of Anand beating Kramnik in the third game of the ongoing World chess championship. May be the English league is more important for our yuppie crowd !!?

yes dude.. epl is important coz the game is football... dont try to compare the popularity of chess with football... u shd be rather commenting such things in some cricket comments session. the whole world is not bothered abt our popular game and most deluded yuppie indians are crazy abt it coz theyve nothing else to crazy abt..

Can you keep patriotism away from appreciating good sports. there are umpteen other things where you can do your bit from India. but let us not single out sports to follow just because an Indian is doing well there.

where is the question of patriotism. I am asking the priority for exposure for excellence of Indian achievers so that young people can get inspired to follow. Why exposure to foreign sportsmen and no mention of Indian achievers ??? Does the Amerivan media exposure to baseball or american Football( only played in US) amounts tp their patriotism ?? if that so than I would also like to do so !!!

basketball, american football and baseball are in the global press coz they are u.s. sports and the americans have the dollars to market them unlike any other country having the money to market their sports
btw, chess is not a sport, get serious, it is a board game, chess requires no athleticism, it is in the bracket of academics and our rotten indian media talk about it because we have nobody at the top in any sport except for anand at times

ya this is good win by murray only bcoz he was in full form today he need to maintain this kind of form continuosly to gain the top level.Federer this loss is very big bcoz at us open murray enter first time in final against grand slam crowd so maybe at that time he felf more pressure but this win was the main challange so its good for tennis having now some good competitive tennis player like federer, nadal, djokovic, murray, giles simon, tsonga, robredo. So all we are lucky to see good tennis and they all have good challange to face in all match so its very hard to keep maintain your spot position now a days. This is now turning point and interesting time now in tennis to see who will maintain his good form upto comming two years bcoz from past 6 years federer had prooved as tennis king but now good to see who can be more fighting player? All the best to tennis

I think Murray is better than Djokovic and will soon take the 3rd spot. Good luck to fed in Basel. He had a good week and looked much better physically.

i still think when djokovic has his ead sorted out.....he is probably the most dangerous out of the lot on fast courts....although if you are talking about consistency in performance....you don't look anywhere else than federer, possibly, The 'GOAT'(Greatest Of All Time)...
