cmon guys,,

that's rubbish.. if this was the case, vijay amritraj, or bopanna could play evert tournament (cos they usually lose in the 1st round anyways) and make it to the top 10...

the point is not how many tournaments you play, its how WELL you play in those tournaments that count..

Nadal can't hold his number 1 position for long time.
People will sonn realize. Since last 4 years he is on number 2 because other players couldn't win French open. In other grand slams they were thrashed by Federer.

Anurag u r partially right..........I agree that he wont hold no. 1 for long time.........but u r absolutely wrong about the last comment..1st follow the tennis matches then comment that........do u know how many master's series had nadal won in every year.........not only that he was consistent in all grandslams(beyond QF).......n for ur kind information consistency matters in ranking which nadal had always.........Maybe he wont hold his number 1 ranking for long time, but for that others had to play as consistent as him,and only Fedex can do that......if federer cant claim his no. 1 spot, then sorry for u(as u r blind supporter of Federer who cant praise others) nadal will be no. 1 for long time

Ranking is based on how well you do in tournaments. If you play enough tournaments, you can have a high ranking. Take the case of Davydenko, he had number four ranking cause he used to play tournaments every week. He never did very well at grandslams.

chelsea,u r right.u dont have to do well in grandslams to be ranked high. But u have to be good in masters series. And doing good not means winning or runners up in grandslams.QF or SF is also good. And ATP's most important point is,if somebody win previous yr a tournament he must win next yr that tournament otherwise he will lose points.Davydenko never wi so many tournaments, but doing either reach QF or SF.Thats why he is in top 10.But this is different for nadal and federer. They had so many tournaments that they had to defend many points. So its definitely they r the top 2with others r way behind. If somebody win 1 or 2 matches to them, that doesnot mean they r closer to these 2 players.
