There is a clear writing on the Board here after seeing the preliminary medal tally. Since this is a youth games, I do not think the participants here are professional sportsmen competing at the highest standard. The tragedy India has is that there is hardly any money in sports to keep the youth interested beyond schools and college. I do not think we lack skills or strength to become the world's sporting nation. What we need is to let our youth to continue the good work and take sports as a career. I have no doubt that we can then be a star nation.

Buddy, Olympics has fiercely competitive Teams from China, & many such Countries which are not part of the Commonwealth League (thus, don't participate in the CW Games). Else, the Beijing Olympics have just been concluded. The results are in front of every 1 yaar.

even the Commonwealth countries (like U.K. Canada) are not participating in full strength. So forget about setting up of any int. standards.
A visit to the CYG venue makes one realize that Pune Corporation has not done its job well. All the roads leading to the venue are half complete, the facilities outside the venue are not even 20% in place.Pune has been shamed because of this. But who is the culprit?Ask any one and the answer is unanimous>Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar have together sabotaged the infrastructure work. They have for their own political reasons brought a bad name to Pune,Maharashtra and India.Clearly,no future games should be organized in places outside Delhi as our politicians will not allow these to happen in a professional manner.

Dude 1000 Cr is not a small amount as any big project can be developed in Pune City with this much amount but really a shame on the governing bodies that PMC cant afford to give better roads and other infrastructure facility for the people of Pune & nor for CYG. Was the admistration sleeping all these years when the development should have started and should have completed before time. Its a real shame. But Pune people has shown great enthusiasm for CYG and to bring success for it.

PLEASE DONT MISINFORM PEOPLE. R U A PUNEITE ?, have been to the venue urselft or you depend on Pune Mirror for such stories. If u had been to the venue urself u wouldn't have said that facilities outside venue aren't even 20% ready. I agree its not ready 100%, but it doesnt bring bad name to the city in anyway - I feel only the finesse is missing in the devt. work. I am sure u r frustrated sharebroker, spreading rumours

Again yaar, this's 'coz we don't have teams from China, who are not part of the CW Games. Else, India no where competes with the world in Sports buddy, that's the bitter truth.
