Great win for Gilles Simon…Simon was very good today, without a doubt, but Federer was poor. His errant - very errant! – forehands.. terrible unforced errors. Not to mention the missed volleys, the poor smashing, and so on. Of course, Simon hit plenty of scorching winners, that’s another matter….but Fed knows how to get over one defeat….. He is going to have to do a repeat of last years tournament…… ATB Roger

Roger Federer is all set to slip further down from his current position of World no. 2. On current form, he could slip to no. 5 very shortly.
Though, he is still good enough to win a few titles, including Grand Slams; particularly if Nadal is either indisposed, or is taken care of by someone else, but his era is clearly over.
Federer losing to a non-entity nowadays, does not make news.
