by sudarshan chat on May 26, 2008 07:49 PM  | Hide replies

This is great shame for a country of 1billion . Now baichung and his men has the chance and responsibility to make Kahn and the likes known about the existence of himself and Indian football.

I dont find it surprising at all. Where does India stand in football ?. We are at best third-rate !. With all the importance in the world given to cricket, every other game has suffered including football. Also, football is confined to very few states like goa, bengal, kerala and the the north-east. Indian football is somewhere in the drain..its upto us to revive it.

by Firefox on May 26, 2008 03:53 PM  | Hide replies

For Oliver this is the last match after that he is announcing retirement. Already ICL is in talks with Oliver to play for Hyderabad Heros and Mallya is trying to pull Oliver in Bangalore Royal Challengers.

Narayanmurthy is launching a soccer game industry and perhaps he will use Kahn's goal keeping skills.

2002 WC was all abt Oliver. amazing display of goal keeping. I think he only left 1 goal in entire match & deservingly won the boot. He shows a Great passion in his job which makes us feel proud of the game. he proved that only a goal keeper can win a entire WC for the team..

2008 is all about Olive Oil. Most of the doctors r recommending Olive Oil as dietary n cooking medium. Olive Oil can single handedly be used for dressing salad to cooking or frying. Perhaps it is only oil we have ever had which contains minimum cholestrol level and can be used for entire family...

s kumar suitings n shirtings. Mohun Bagan will not any goal. There will be two goals on either side of ground and will remain intact. Indians r not rowdies like Chelsea n ManU. Champions League final was a martial art final and the black belt was given to Makelele. He displayed a good skill of Ninja fighter and Drogba displayed his monkey (note: pls dont read it maa-ki) style.

Bayern Munich's clash in India
by Dipanjay on May 26, 2008 01:19 PM  | Hide replies

It will be a great delight to watch a club which has been impressive over the last couple of decades. Personally I visited once to the Bayern Munchen Club in Munich and also also saw Allianz Arena (where the 2006 final was taken place)and I was quite impressed to see such a world class infrastructure for football.
I wish them to win the hearts of millions in India.

Personally i visited many time Salt lake stadium, Mohun Bagan Grounds and i liked the infrastructure there compared to our village guys. They play in paddy field with easy-to-shift enabled goal. The goal can be easily moved as it is made of slippers mostly hawai chappals. Western will copy this cheaper version n will try to patent it like Basmati n Turmeric.

Cool

I think Bayern Munchen visiting Kolkata is a great delight. But it doesnt speak any thing about Football in the country. The country has not been able to make any impact on the world of football.... Indians do support football but football associations in india are useless and hardly do a competent job.
I Bayern playing in India hardly does anything for football as a sport in India. India needs a professional league and the clubs need to have their own well evolved system. Initially itll be great if Indian players can even find a place in some european teams. Thats when the standard will increase.

For that players need to be minimum 6ft tall n have horse power to sprint and on top technique. It will not come by smoking biri after match. For individuals, soccer don't need much infrastructure like other games. Look at Bhai how he developed in pahad of sikkim. He admired maradona since yound n worked hard.
