Probably you have not read about philanthropy, generosity, and down to earth attitude shown by Federer during Tsunami in Chennai

Don't compare roger and RAFA..
roger is ever best, rafa is the one of best clay court player ever born.if u wach feder silky smooth shots and rafa powerfull forhand..you can differentiate .like dhoni and sachin

kareem if u r calling rafa dhoni then u know nothing about tennis...just bcoz fedex looks elegant in his shots n nadal doesn't,u can't be saying watever ya wish...well,fedex does play brilliant n intelligent tennis, nadal too has his tactics behind hitting those forehands which u compare with dhoni's batting....federer has everything to beat nadal at the french, but the reason he hasn't been able to do so is that nadal runs down every feddie shot...n nadal's forehand is meant to cause trouble to his opponents by not allowin them to hit perfect shots due to the heavy topspins that he employs,a tactic which is working perfectly for him,so its not like dhoni's blind hits...n pls don't compare sachin with federer,as fedex is on a completely different level to sachin(sorry, sachin fans!!).

Its just u r comaring past with present
Nadal is barely 22 & federer is almost 27 now.
tell me how many championships nadal has won besides clay couts. out of his 11 atp masters he has won 8 on clay & he is not able to win any grandslams besides french open. it is not not that he is not a great player,He is king of clay, but Federer is king of tennis. I think before he try to achive # 1 rank jokovic will surpass him to # 1

If hamburg masters semifinal would have been on some other court then jokovic would have won it in mere 2 sets.

sorry buddy u r wrong here u cant claim Federer as "King of Tennis" he is still lagging the french open trying to win it frm last 6 yrs at the age of 20 & if u remember he played his prime when thr is a big gap in tallented players in the world , he dethroned Hewitt & his only genuine contender is veteren Andre Agassi for next 5 yrs. Although he is excellent player of grass but not the complete 1.
n if u talk about nadal he started winning his grandslam at the age of 17 & again beat federer regularly & reach to the finals of wimbledon last yr, so dont underestimate him.
n with the emergence of jokovic & other new players it looks like that federer lost his silky toch & power just at the age of 26 which is barely a young age 4 a STAR to retire.
last yr he has to sweat too much to beat samprass a real legend of grass court & older then him nearly 10 yrs!!!!!!!!!

The old technique of wasting time on medical reason. Thats what cheater like Nadal are made up of.
He took a medical time out for wasting the time when he looked completely feet.

rafa is not cheater , You are not the sportperson yaar then , Rule is their for medical time , why create such nonsense fiasco then. He had won the match with hard work , passion , great forehand ..
Does this mean that federar dont have any patience ...great feddy.... to tame faddy . If you are the federer fan then it really hurts losing to nadal so many times.. Thats the impact rafa do on world greatest player ... better than the best

Dude the reason y rafa does not lose as many times against roger is tht on other courts like grass and hard courts he barely makes it to the finals where he can play against roger. He ends up losing earlier to other players.

Backhand
by cdcontent cdcontent on May 19, 2008 10:14 AM  | Hide replies

If Nadals backhand improves he can become the all time great player of Tennis. He has already improved his serve which was also his weakpoint but theres still scope for improvement. Roger is a complete player but why Nadal wins most of their matches is his stamina to cover the court and his never say die attitude...

Your Nemesis
Federer Vs History
by Your Nemesis on May 19, 2008 03:18 AM  | Hide replies

Roger lost yet again, in a match which he could have easily won. The difference - belief. Roger has the game to beat Nadal on clay. But he simply doesn't believe that he can win Nadal. Per statistics, win/loss record etc., Federer can be called the best in history, if he crosses the 14 grand slam mark. But, unless he conquers his own weakness and beats Nadal a few times, he cannot be called the all time best. At Hamburg he reached the finals without facing a single seeded player. But French will be a different story. I will be surprised if he reaches the finals.

True. Federer simply doesn't believe in himself when it comes to playing Nadal on clay.

The same can be said of Nadal as well in Grand Slams other than French Open. He manages to reach QFs and SFs, but always ends up losing against lower ranked players.

Completely agree with you. This game was a battle of minds. Nadal's self belief when he was down 5-1 was quite evident. While Federer seemed to have this lurking fear that Nadal will come back. There were moments of brilliance when Federer overcame his fears and showed sparks of brilliance, but he did not sustain that performance.
Overall very engrossing battle - thoroughly enjoyable!

Federer's hegemony to end soon
by vivek anand on May 18, 2008 11:00 PM  | Hide replies

This is a sign of things to come, and Federer will meet the same fate in the Roland Garros.
He was never a force to reckon with in the clay court.
However, it remains to be seen whether Nadal/Djokovic or anyone else challenges him in the Wimbledon and the US open.

Fed Ex is d best... Rafa is a clay player only and on the other hand Fed is best in almost every other surface..and improving gr8tly in clay, match by match... time is not far away when Nadal wil be licking clay in front of Federer..and i hope we wont have to wait for long.. french open is not far away..
