It's a great achievement considering the disaster happened in this sport. It's great that we showed an excellent skills while taking penalty corner's which had been the peak of the problem for the last ten years or so. BUT OUR FIELD HOCKEY IS NOT UP TO MARK WHEN THERE WILL BE BATTLE AGAINST TOP TEAM'S LIKE GERMANY, HOLLAND AUSTRALIA, SPAIN. So good job Bansal/Ric and work on field hockey skills which can be achieved by improving each individual players dribling skills. You listening Mr. Coach and Expert Coach...

The team will do anything but improve. The tournament will give confidence to many young players and new establishment.
The team needs a private organisation like BCCI to make it more successful. Our Hockey team has not many sponsors and budget for supporting the team. The silver Medal at the Azlan Shah Cup was a great show team! Go fo the gold next time! Jai Hind

I seriously doubt that. The hockey fan base is nothing as compared to Cricket. Apart from the players' family and friends only Ex-Hockey players and officials on the ground watch the games. Why do you think the India Co. will even try to tap this miniscule population.
At last, our national sports is getting a rewarding message, if not rewards of money, car, and house like cricket. I wish this to be a step by IOA in recognizing and encouraging the young as well as senior players to begin a new era in Indian Hockey. Let bygones be bygones. By the way, congratulations to Indian players.

I feel if they are given some good financial reward as well it will serve an important message to others. In modern era simply messages don't matter very long.
