I never liked her, very unsporting!

After the incident at Roland Garros I lost respect for her.Serena was about to serve a second server and Justineheld up her hand to tell Serena Williams that she was not ready and so Serena just netted the ball; unfortunately the referee did not see Justine and called it a double and Justine retracted saying she did not raise her hand. It was at a critical juncture and Serena went on to loose...

Again at the Australian Open Mauresmo was whipping her and Justine was heading for a straight set defeat, she pulled out of the match claiming some fake injury..... absolutely no class, cannot gracefully accept defeat.

'Winning wasn't enough for Henin anymore'
by Vibhakar Kelkar on May 15, 2008 12:57 PM

MARIA SHARAPOVA says about Justine Henin "Without being the strongest or the biggest, she's won so much". This one sentence speaks volumes of Henin. Yes,the tennis world will definitely miss her, but she must be having compelling reasons to call it a day. Our very best wishes to her.

by sandeep kumar on May 15, 2008 11:54 AM

Retirement when shes world number one, at age 25..Got to be lure of IPL. I suggest she joins my city Bangalore, which has the most pathetic 2020 team ever. She'll certainly do a lot better than losers like Bharat chipli, arun kumar, vinay, cameron white etc. Mallya dude, act fast!

Shocking!!
by B Basu on May 15, 2008 11:43 AM

What? Henin has retired? No news can be more shocking than this. The way she overcame her tumultous separation from her non-cooperative husband Pierre Yves Hardenne, it was proven without doubt about her mental strength. She married Pierre Yves against all opposition from her family and had to leave them at age 17. Her painted world was soon broken with Pierre's different attitude. She somehow adjusted for 7 long years, immersing herself in practice and play. That showed her tough mentality. She soon joined the professional circuit after her long-drawn battle for divorce was granted by the Belgian court. She didn't take time to rise to the top again. The world hoped that she will continue to play and enjoy her game that she is with her own family again. Nobody really understood what she went thru on her personal life. It is HER decision. She lived her life on her own terms. She decided when to retire. I wish all the best in her life now. The tennis fraternity will lose the sight of a true fighter, one of the best it has seen and perhaps will ever see.

Sad!
by Junglee on May 15, 2008 11:02 AM

What a mental strength! She played and played like a champion despite serious problems within her close family including her husband. It looks like the game was like a meditaion for calming her mind and facing the problems. A rare breed indeed! Whoever is going to be her new suiter has to be good. It will be interesting to see how and whom she is going to chose to be ner next husband.

She will always be remembered not only for her fierce one handed backhand but also for her determination and strength she showed while playing against some of the biggies of tennis
