but public intervention can help. these private bodies that represent the country are not representative of the country - they represent themselves and their pockets

IHF is not independent body. it is givt's commetee who is represent this National Game.
Indian sport is a big scam ! There are associations registered under the societies act who come together to form federations, which get 'recognition' from IOA to get funds from the govt. It appears that legally, their recognition by international federations is independant of their recognition by the IOA. It is doubtful whether IOA can 'suspend' the IHF, which is a body of duly registered societies - however corrupt their working may be. At most, the IOA can withdraw it's recognition of the IHF - it can't take over the IHF.
It's high time Gill realises his mistakes and stays quite. He should realise that by the methods of omission and commission the IHF carried during his tenure,Indian Hockey has hit rock bottom. This is not some lady IAS Officer's bottom that he can pinch and get away with it.
