Do not ever underestimate Germany in any walk of life. Germany is the greatest nation in the world. English clubs have performed well in Europe but Germany's record is also no less specially in the World Cup and the Euro nations cup.

Bayerns defeat is a shocker. I am surprised how they lost like this.

If one had seen the way Zenit plays Bayern loss wont be looking like a shocker at all. Zenit was simply outstanding, as the result shows. I felt they would have lost even bigger margin unless the referee wasnt way too much biased towards Bayern (he even suspended Zenit's best player from the final by a yellow card, for something which wasnt even a foul in the first place). And for German teams they faired well this year considering three teams were in the quarter finals of european championships (that is 3 out of best 16 in Europe this year). Where the world champions Italians and european power house dutch teams were a disaster.
