just like all politicians but people like you vote from them and support their mass killing of human values as well human beings! and now for this crap issue which is not going to cost India anything you shout! shame shame!
How come there wasnt any info on this one. Anyways the beauracrates and politicians dont care of anything, if the world cup is not held in India, I(India) loose my respect but what beauracrates and policians gains, lot of money, that would otherwise invested in developments. So put yourself in their shoes,,
We all miss one point. If you travel in Germany or Australia you will see many astro turf hockey grounds in every small town. Young kids will be playing field hockey there. We also have play grounds in every place but you will see only Cricket playing kids. Those countries have a chance to pick up talent at a very young age and groom them to class players. We need atleast 100 hockey grounds in India so that lot many people start playing the game allowing the officials to select right talent from a group of players. Otherwise, we will be depending on oldies only.

Balasubramanian Ramachandran, In the current sports scenario, every sportsperson is looking for making fast bucks (Who knows when injuries will creep up????). In hockey, if a goal is scored, then the player gets paid INR 1200 per goal. On the contrary, whether a cricketer scores a zero or hundred or whatever it may be, they are earning in lakhs or crores. Given a choice, what would you do? Still play hockey???
Indians has to concentrate on other sports like hockey and foot ball .Even the poorest african countries are able to qualify for soccer and win medals in olympics.

since india was ruled by british..they have left bt left behing cricket..and thats y..only cricket..too bad britans also play football.. sadly didnt rub off on indians.. the govt of india shud pay an idiot to do some research on y india loves only cricket and not other sports..

I agree that Indian need to play other sports as well.. This will spread out more employment opportunities for people. Football is the world's famous sport and Indian turely have a chance to excel in Asian level only if they are given more interests... Hockey is a sad story ... we were no. 1 and now are beaten up by other nations .... this is not good ... we need to bring back the fame of Indian Hockey... Tennis, Golf , Basketball and Volleyball also needs a little more attention
