Murthy
Malya has to push harder
by Murthy on Mar 17, 2008 02:36 PM

It's a great feeling to see an Indian team with the country name. You feel so proud about it. You know for sure no to expect magic from the new team against the big names in the sport.
It's logical that Malya has a vision for the team and hopeful of a podium finish by 2010. It's a great thing for the sport to have an Indian venue considering the potential for motor sports in the upcoming economy. But Malya has to be a bit careful!
Indian fans are very demanding. Look at Hockey, Football and other games. Very little knowledge and support at home. The reason, we are not doing well in these sports. Indian fans don't get madly involved with games where we are 'ME TOO' players. Cricket triumps because we have done well in the past 2 decades and beaten all teams in all venues.
Even though the cricket team loses 5 wickets, we still sit infront of the TV, hoping for miracles. I know well F1 is a different ball game altogether and has a differnet set of fans.
The die hard fans of Ferrari and McLaren are shifting loyalty to Force India due to emotional attachment with the team which is a good achievement for Malya.
Aussie GP was a wonderful platform. Had Giancarlo stayed on, he would have earned a point for the team. considering the fact the the Big Autos like Honda and Toyota struggled for past few years to get to double digit by end of the season
I would like to sum up saying that Malya has to push harder to make a mark at the earliest and not to let Indian fans lose interest

Guys, this is a shame for our country and our team didnt even finish the race. Lets burn the effigies of Sutil and Fisichella. Let us not drink kingfisher....

Hope we atleast dont treat this sport like others..

This is not shame for our country we should be proud that we have made our mark in F1 circuit.Hats off to Mr Mallaya who has taken such a bold step and has put India in the FI circuit which would have been a very distant dream.

Virendra Singh
ForceIndia team
by Virendra Singh on Mar 17, 2008 01:35 PM

ForceIndia has just started, we have to watch more than one race to predict about capabilities. Fisichella is a good driver and we can expect results (if not podium finish). Indian sports are so much in infacny that any laurel will be better than present scenario.
And no need to abuse Mr. Mallya, I can bet he is a better manager than KPS Gill of Indian Hockey Inc.

everything will happen but only with time...
by sandesh on Mar 17, 2008 12:06 PM

as far as force india is concerned its good to see that drivers and mechanics and the management want to achieve a lot and they are pushing themselves hard... if u look at mcleren or BMW they have not acheived success overnight.... its a matter of time...in force india, the drivers are new, the management is new and even the technical team is new. it will take atleast 6 to 8 races to get to know about the things.. from there on things will start to improve...its always better to go step by step and we indians want everything to happen is one go which will not in practical.... we all should support them and watchout for the future races,,,, even ferrari lost out... it doesnt mean that its the end of their championship... patience is the name of the game... all the best VJM001

Fisichella is known for his unreliable driving. Vijay Mallya is going to have a tough time with this nutcase.
