Till finals India played well, if not very well. True that the management body is not professional, players are doing their best, but they have more potential, they need to realize it. Hockey is going down because of the management.
Yea, that's all they can do "bounce back". After all can they fall any lower than this? Maybe theh can, they won't even qualify for the Asian Games or something.
The hockey players are not playing "hookey" not hockey.
Threaten to withdraw from all the hockey matches if Indian Hockey team is not given a special ticket to Olympics. If still unsuccessful, call a few English players racists and explain how they used racially abusive words.
I am sure given the commercial value of the Indian hockey, olympics will definitely agree.
The job of the fans is to help their team win but even in defeat they should continue to support their team. In India, we dont have this character - we get overjoyed when the team wins, we abuse them when they lose.
Another point, we need sponsors for lower level games - like college games. Those are the ones who can do with facilities. Money will come anyway to the national players. This is another thing we can learn from the west.
Mir Ranjan Negi was the goalkeeper in that ill-fated match against Pakistan when we conceded 7 goals.....i saw that match as an 8 year old kid and i'am telling you that the guy deserved all the vilification and slander!!
Atleast 4 out of those 7 goals, this guy supposed to be the goalkeeper, was nowhere in sight and had disappeared in midfield....
On many ocassions, Hasan Sardar, Samiullah, Karimullah had an open goal with only Zafar Iqbal and Mohammad Shahid sprawling in front of the goalpost and putting their all for India...
It was a sorry sight of the goalkeeper letting India down, time and again, and that too in front of a crestfallen Mrs Indira Gandhi...suddenly Appu the elephant mascot looked forlorn and defeated!!
Mir Ranjan Negi made every Indian put his head down in shame on that day!! Even an 8 year old boy like me felt small and bitter on that unfortunate day!!
No respect for Mr Mir Ranjan Negi...even though i don't buy the conspiracy theory, it was indeed a demonstration of incompetence of the highest order from Mir Ranjan Negi....
where all gone when india performing in d hockey n all came to blame them while they r not up to d mark.....those who blame hockey are ever come to cheer indian hockey team while thye were performing on d field.............bas lage rahoo mera bharat mahan
