I am not surprised. Anand is after all the WORLD CHAMPION, and has defeated the best of all the other intellectual giants of other countries in order to capture the coveted title of WORLD CHAMPION.
today there are about a dozen international masters from India & the full credit goes to Anand. about 2 years back an Indian by name Srinath bagged the world sub-junior chess and the runner up was also an Indian.
He has done more than just win individual titles - he has given the Indian youth the confidence that they can become chess players of international calibre and we hope to see more from younger players like Humpy, Suryashekar Ganguly & ...
We are all very proud of you - you have truly given us 'Anand'
It feels great to see a Indian achieving at this level. Achievements like this raises the moral of every country man. Even a man/women toiling in the village fields feels elevated to hear such wins. Anand,Congrats and thanks for this sweet gift to us.
