Even Great Britain has won an olympic Hockey Gold. When we could lose to China in the Asian Games then I guess all other teams are formidable and Great Britain is certainly better than most teams.
I had seen people celebrating Indian team's victory over Bermuda in a big way. Why denounce Hockey?
The hockey team constitutes of underprivileged people of India who are asked to perform without much motivation from Indian sport lovers. Contrary to this, cricket players are cheered for their victory against tiniest of the teams since they are rich, wealthy and influential and Media and corporates support them.
I have seen tremendous changes in Indian hockey team. After Asia Cup victory they are maintaining their speed and momentum.
Indian hockey team needs support of their countrymen, not criticism. Cricket lovers would never digest the fact that Indian hockey team is becoming popular. This 90 minute game has the ability to outclass the game that wastes days of productivity in this country.

It was a great win for India against Mexico
Why bring cricket in this Cricket,Hockey and other sports can co exist Hockey needs to be promoted by the print and electronic media and the sports channels Every international match should be shown on DD and other sports channels with good promotion and marketing and efficient commentators who keep the interest alive & educate the public abt the game It should be shown atleast on DD since it's govt. run
If we'll play football against Mexico then we'll get defeated with the same scoreline but it will be 18-0,so enjoy victory over AUS,HOL,GER,SPAIN etc.,not over minnows.

correct playing and winning against low rated countries is like playing against say school teams. India should be ashmed now that it has to play qualifying matches. how much can u stoop i don't know

Important thing as of now is to qualify. The way team has played in last 4-5 months especially the Asia cup, I am sure we will be in medal race at Beijing.
congratulations to the Hockey Team. We are praised for your victory against British Hockey Team. And also for the qualification for the Olympic with the No.1 place in this tourenament.
CHACK THE INDIA. CHACK THE FOR DILIP TIRKY & HIS TEAM.
Wonder why is this not on the Home page or main page of sports.
1st the media neglects Hockey and then asks why is it not being treated properly. Unless people know of these achievements how are they going to feel proud and show more interest.

common man. First we should be ashamed to be in this position. For the first time, we are in a position that we may not send hockey team to china if we lose atleast one game in this tournment.
