Without taking any credit from Aanand, the Rs 15 Lakh has been announced by the cash rich Indian Cricket board, not by the Indian government.
Any way Aanand deserves much more recognition and lets not compare him with these sports personalities!!

Dear friend, I too know very well that the award is declared by filthy rich Cricket Board & not by Indian Govt. What I have tried to highlight here is the plight of Indian Sports where riches are being heaped on Just One Sport & the fact that there are scores of other disciplines in sport is completely forgotten.

the diff is anand wins always consistently and these cricketers wins very occassionally..
