I was expecting a holland vs spain final..but holland had a very bad quarterfinal outing. They played awfully against the russians. spain deservingly won the title. kudos..Viva Espana..
Highly entertaining, brilliant and vintage soccer was exhibited by teams like Spain, Germany, Turkey and Russia....4 of the best teams made it to semis...teams with a negative mindset like Italy were eliminated....if Italy are to defend their WC crown in 2010, they will have to attack more and curb their defensive mentality..
My favourites for 2010 WC in a couple of years time are now as follows :
1) Brazil(always eternal favourites for sheer class) 2) Spain(talent, discipline and innovation) 3) Germany(Bulldog fighting spirit and greats like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Miroslav Klose) 4) Italy(greatest defence plus Gigi Buffon will be around for a couple of years more) 5) England(will be surprise packet of 2010 WC in South Africa)
Besides these 5 teams, i seriously don't see a chance for any other team...France are ageing and they will take atleast 3 to 4 more years to rebuild....Holland and Portugal always choke at the big stage...

You cannot ignore talent packet Argentina. They are Number 1 in the world with consistancy and performance.

ur favourites suck because of stereotypes!!!! The favourites should be: 1)Argentina(Always better than brazil but always unlucky. Just like spain whose bad luck finally took an about turn at the Euros. And their qualification campaign has taken off far better than Brazil)
2)Holland(the way they played at the Euros, you must be a fool to count Italy as one of the favourites and not the Dutch!!!)
3)Spain(Now that they have overcome their big tournament blues, they will surely start as one of the favourites)
4)Brazil(Because no World Cup can be interesting without them playing in the last four. So these four should be the semi-finalists)
5)Germany(another free flowing team that always plays well at the majors)
Just think man if these teams do make it - what a great tournament it would be full of goals and exciting football. And by the way let England qualify for the WC first boss and then make them favourites. And what is this negative shit with teams like Italy...They have just one playmaker in Pirlo and look what they did when he did not play in the quarterfinal against Spain. They played awful man...if u still like them then only God help u.....

Argentina better than Brazil!!! Except when it comes to head to head matches... take the confederation cup or the copa america... argentina were decimated....

This is one of the most ridiculous I have ever heard .. what is luck dude ....Remember the cliche that one makes his own luck with hard work ........ Spain were one the best team in the whole tournament and they played very good attacking football.....
