It was a very ordinary performnce. Federer, for most part, played mediocre Tennis. He won, because Soderling played worse. Federer was under some pressure in third set. If this is what is called breezing past, someone is going to steamroll him before Nadal gets the chance to do it.
yeserdays match was not up to the mark,Soderling made lot of fault helped out federer,federer is greatest player,he should not wait for opponent unforced error,he must do some thing differently..common federer ..
Federer is the King but Wimbledon will see a new Champ this year...this is my gut feeling that we might witness a new champ this year..rising from the ranks....someone will snatch the crown right under the nose of Federer. Nadal ..maybe...but Safin definitely looks a meaner opponent for Fedex this time around.

very true. Safin is a very dangerous player. Unbeatable by anyone including Fedrer on his day. Also the only player today with a big booming serve of old times. But he is extremely unfocused and switches on & off. You never know what to expect. A real threat for FED

Dont compare his and federers class. Fedex is all time great. I would be happy if Safin can play a close match against him. Also dont forget Andy Roddick.

Safin is one of the inconsistent player. Dont think too much about a day that has very less chance to come for the safin to beat federer
Borg is jealous because there is a real possibility of federer passing his 5 straight win record. Even borg could not have done anything against a beast like Nadal in clay. Has the tennis world seen any bigger shoulder or bigger biceps than nadal's. Unless they make clay a little faster surface, no one can beat nadal as long as he plays in clay. It is known secret that Borg was a big time womanizer and no one knows why borg retired when on high. Its a hoax spread by people like Borg that Federer will be all time great only if he wins french open. But even for people like him federer has reached french final three times and semi final once. Let them make clay a little faster surface, then we will see how closer the game between nadal and federer gets. For all purpose federer is the greatest as no one before him have swept what ever before him year after year after year for nearly 5 years. Sampras and Laver accept this. Borg's opinion doesnt matter.

Mr Kumara, Not sure if Borg is jealous of federer, but you definitely are jealous of nadal. Calling nadal a beast shows the beast in you. Please mind your language while commenting. if your logic of bigger biceps wins matches at french holds good, mike tyson would have been french open champ handfully. Idea of making french courts faster, That too just to allow federer to win is most comic i ever heard. it show your prejudice towards federer. Please grow up and be sensible in commenting.

I also share similar sentiments, but don't be so rude in criticising Borg. After all everyone has personal opinions. Also the idea of making clay courts faster seems absurd. Clay courts are as they are just to add variety to the game,right? otherwise, there's no fun playing on same kind of surfaces throughout the year...
Borg had predicted Djokovic will be 2nd favourite to win wimbledon, how wrong he was, Safin won strait sets against Djoko. Federer is in great form so far in wimbledon. People who said Federer is on the wane may have to eat their words.

Federer is the best and always will be...It wont be long till he surpasses Sampras' 7 winbledon titles.....Nadal wont be able to sustain his current for 4 too long, like Federer has been # 1 for more than 4 years now...There is only once in a generation that athletes like Federer, Tiger Woods, Schumacher are born, and we are the privileged ones to have actually seen them do what they do best.........

One of my sincere suggestion to Borg is that don't predict any player as a winner or top contender or whatever. It puts some pressure on the players.

If not a fortune teller, why should he predict... Please tell him to keep shut. He ofcourse was a great player of tennis but a very bad analyst of the game or probably fears of loosing his reputation to Roger... His comments might be to discourage Roger so that he will be nervous to play Nadal... But will Nadal reach final.... Djokovic is gone... Let's wait and see
