FYI, Ronaldo is not playing in Euro cup. A brazilian can't play in any national europian team. He does play for a club in italy (A.C. Milan). Also, he is not in Brazil national squad bcos of his injury & fitness problems. Brazil has to forget abt Ronaldo now. They ve Kaka, Pato, Robinho & othr young players 4 d nxt world cup :-)

.. that India qualifed for the 1950 Football world cup but refused to participate in the tournment. Those days football was played barefooted and FIFA refused to let India play without shoes.

I've heard that too but I don't know to what extent it is true... I mean how did they allow qualifiers without boots when you cannot play in finals without it? The officials must have seen the qualifiers and said that straight away!

India hasnt played any match in the qualifiers.We qualified automatically because the other teams(Burma,Philipines,Indonesia)in the same group all withdrew from the qualifiers.

india never flew to brazil to participate ... remember one thing .. we beacme an independent country in 1947 and at that time the indian govt. wasn't sure to invest a handsome lot of money on football .. they weren't convinced ... moreover all our players used to play barefooted at that time ... both these issues went against india barrig them from participating in the world cup finals .... but we can say we had a good team at that time ... based on the performance in Olympics :)
