Sania Mirza is just a Media Hype like Khans in Bollywood, Both are crap in terms of Talent, but are hyped to appease the Minorities. It's a Fact, When India has produced Gr8 Sportswomen like PT Usha, Karnam Malleshwari, Anjali Bhagwat, Shiny Wilson and Anju Bobby Gerorge, Who is Sania Mirza in front of these Gr8 Sportswomen, Absolute Crap.

Karnam Malleshwari won us Bronze Medal in Weight Lifting, Does anyone hype her in the Media, why this Injustice to a gr8 Sportswoman.........................

Sania Oh Sania

I always considered Sania Mirza a flash in the pan.... more concerned about projecting her smug status than concentrating on her game and the media projecting her as a demi-god.

Every steep rise to stardom has a sudden fall.

She has indeed been a flash in the pan! All that she has (in terms of tennis talent, that is) is a desperate forehand that comes off huge on her day! With the kind of erratic first serve, sissy second serve, inconsistent ground strokes and clumsy court coverage, she can probably upset one or two top ten players one odd time, but cannot hope to win any top tournaments! Add to these her arrogance (read her father\'s arrogance) in handling (!) her coaches and her attitude (courtesy the press and some morons like Mr Mahesh Bhupathi), we have (a good looking) loser! The whole world has reasons to believe that she feigns her injuries to avoid embarrassments occasionally (actually, the occasions are too frequent to fool the people)! If she is not feigning her injuries, she most certainly does not have the physical fitness required to succeed at the highest level in the sport! She can never hope to be a great player unless she overcomes these drawbacks! Anyway, here\'s wishing the Indian all the very best!

I am not the one who is reporting abuse, I am not like you who will take advantage of the anonymity that internet provides and abuse and criticize people in the forums, I bet you dont have the guts to criticize her in person.

I am pointing to your gramatical mistakes to make it a point that we are not perfect but we try to acheive perfection , few achieve it and most dont but that doesn't make them any less. we should understand and try to respect and appriciate what sania is doing, istead of crying.

Abe kyon..apna dimag laga raha hai jo nahi hai...she is in world's top 30 player...not because of you..or the indian media..
it is because of her play...It is not like only number 1 exists and no other player has a talent.
She has a talent to be at # 30 ...that is something great....
You think before what you write....just dont write anything crap here.

The best indian
by Sameer Bharwat on Jun 11, 2008 08:39 PM  | Hide replies

You guys dont understand that a building cannot be built in a day, it has to be done brick by brick. When compared to the world standards Sania is not the top 10 players in the world but it is a beginning, she has shown the world that Indian women can compete at the world stager, she is inspiring thousands of Indian women to take up tennis, she may not be the best but she sure is the best that india produced and she is the lightning rod of Indian tennis.
If you think she is medicore than it is a reflection on you and your country and not on her. It shows what kind of oppurtunities that your country gives to women.
If you want India to produce good tennis players, then let your doughters and sisters play tennis.

Poor performance ? It must be because of you know what
by Chris on Jun 11, 2008 08:30 PM  | Hide replies

Now, she may make a statement that she is not able to perform well, because in India, 'minorities' such as herself, are discriminated against.
Remember that other great Indian, who had earlier made such a profound statement - it was none other than the great match-fixing Azharuddin, who made this remark to express his immense gratitude to the nation that gave him the opportunity to play cricket for the national team, and even captain it for many many many years.
