Praveen,
Man, Tennis players have to be in the US if they are to improve their game. In the US they get good infrastructure, fine training and more exposure, whereas tennis is a neglected sport in this country.
Anyway, both of them are more patriotic than you since they have done something for the country, whereas, nether you nor me can boast of anything like that. Let us accept that fact instead of pointing fingers on these stars. They have their differences and it is bound to happen when it is a matter of two individuals.

Babuji, pls talk sense. What do you think tomorrow if US wants a great cricket team, will they train and practice in Australia. No, They will build their own quality infrastructure and produce a good time over a period of time. So India wants a good poool of tennis players, we need to have infrastructure.

Guu ji,
If you play tennis and want to become a professional player, then as of now, you have no other option but to seek for some good foreign coach and settle somewhere in the US. It is very easy to criticise others. But when it comes to you, you will be the first one to board the plane for the US! Tehre are many good things about our country. But sadly in certain other areas, we lack. And we lack very badly.
then ask the AITA and government to provide proper faciliteis and stadiums all over the country. A tennis rakcet (good one) cost anything above Rs. 30,000/- to 40,000/-. How many of Indians an afford this. Ask the government to promote sports . then ask those players to play for India in Olympics. Others who have spent their money, time and energy will play in tennis circuit and earn for themselves.
Except Olympics, Asian Games and a tournament or so, everywhere else it is individuals vs. individusl game not between countries. Babu
if next time any one of them make hue n cry about playing together, throw them out of Indian team. They sud realise COUNTRY is more than individual players. There is no dearth of talent in India.

Jugnu,
You have gone nuts. Can you name a couple of tennis tournaments inwhich participation is done on country basis. Almost all the tennis tournaments are individual basis. It is not between two or more nations.

They had their own problems. When I write something against your point of view in this column , you get irritated. Now think about them, who play together and often open foul-mouth to each other. How they are going to play together. they don't like each other, and if still they play togehter, it is only because of country.
Sports and olympics is all about friendship and goodwill, what image do messrs paes and bhupathi exhibit! I would rather have some young gun representing india than these old bandicoots sodden with personal ego and envy! What matters is spirited participation and not washing of dirty linen in public!
The regular news items regarding this pairs' differences being aired in different media and finally getting "resolved" makes me imagine these situations for the 2016 or 2020 Olympics.
1] Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathy have finally announced that they will play doubles for the coming Olympics since the AITA President Mr. Khanna has strictly told them to bury their differences in the interest of India and they have agreed to the same.
2] Ever green actor Dev Anand has applauded this gesture of our tennis stalwarts and announced that as an ardent tennis fan he will get his latest heroine to be given special training about tennis so that she will be able to cheer the Indian tennis team at the Olympics.
I congratulate the duo of Leander and Mahesh for sinking their real and imaginary differences for the country and wish them best of luck for Olympics. All Indians would hope and pray that this time they will win ous Gold medal as this may be the last time they will play together in Olympics

I don't know why the players should be allowed to dictate terms like this regarding who they want to play with. Its high time the officials take a firm stand and tell these two to do what they say or simply get another player in. The Shoaib Akhthar case is a classical example of this.

c'mon, player has to have a say in team selection. You can't play with someone you hate. It is good that they have buried the hatchet. Forcing them would not have worked.
I will both of them all the best as they are like army jawas for us who have teamed up for the nation and nothing is over and above the nation.....Cheers and ALL the Best....
