Its not for india and you guys to see a silverware i.e medals tht these athletes ar goin 2 the olympics for.

These athletes have trained on their own and these ar THEIR own goals. Olympics is just an other major competition out of all the other competitions tht these athletes ar training for.

For instance, track and field atheletes, swimming athletes, tennis athletes have other major competitions every year in their own sports.

So olympics is only in 4 years means nothing to top atheltes from countries i.e america, russia, china, australia. Its just another big competition w.all the sports in it and winning is also a big deal as much as winning in other events b.f and after olympics.

Its really sad for indian public to not take notice of athletes goal and all thy care is about a medal. For wht use is tht, only for a week thy ar in the papers and thts it.

While the cricket team is in papers for evrythin including monkey acts displayed at the cost of sportmanship.

All these athletes ar all goin abroad for training and also each state is takin an effort to bring in foreign coaches. Its really a good idea to dump india and go abroad.

Anywys good luck to all these athletes and their true supporters which is their family and friends.

This is always ridiculous, come olympics the first to be targeted is Cricket........ Come on show me a minister capable of taking his position seriously and thereby get all the training facilities in India and then I will agree to many.. Remember, Cricket was not such a sport as it is now in the 1980, it was only when the Hockey declined due to rubbish politics that people turned to Cricket, whatever cricket is today because of cricketers and its administrators, Don't blame the chicken for goose pimples..... I wish the olympic squad all the best..... Let there be more medals this time.....

Cricket is not targetted, its the way the press and t.v channels showcase these other sports. National games were given of little importance to major sports channel, since public is not interested and ratings are low.

Theres not even a proper sports anylst to cover other sports and the athletes. We get to hear the minute some of these athletes win a medal or are ranked high among the world best athletes in differnt sports.

Its about the sports since athletes come and go and its only a phase of their lives. The sport however fails to impress youngsters and less recruits ar made in the future to keep the team alive in competitions.

The closet athlete tht comes close to p.t usha is sri lanka's sushanthika jayasinghe. Thts the only athlete in the indian subcontinent who can be called the next p.t usha. Other athletes in this generation fail to make an impression like p.t usha or shiny wilson.

The pathetic fact is the only person to have made the top 10 ranking in athletics is anju bobby george. She is the first athlete to win a medal in the world athletic championship ever.

Thts how pathetic the sports association of india is.

I am just wishing luck to all these athletes only and not for the sake making india proud. Learn tht from the u.s, its never patriotic rather its all personal and agressive to be the number 1.

Looks like you can't digest the truth abt the life of these athletes and how the indian public treated them.

So you come here and look for spellings and useless stuff. This is a discussion and not a GOP summmit, so either discuss or don't reply at all.

Shooters and tennis players can only give the indian team a few medals or so and that too not a gold. Rankings ar based on the number of gold medals. I don't think getting silver or bronze in which these athletes of this particular sport have achieved in the past makes any difference to improving india's chance of getting out of the bottom half of the tally.
