Venus is the most beautiful woman. I think you are only looking at her skin colour, don't go by colour, look at her shiny skin, body built and height. And her determination and power, you need to be a special player to play a singles final and doubles final with in hours and win both.

according to your logic, all those who dont win are stupids, so dont worry there are 127 losers in womens tennis and Sania is one of them.

William Sisters & Indian Tennis
by LALIT KUMAR ANAND on Jul 06, 2008 09:41 AM  | Hide replies

Both the sisters were just superb and a class above the rest at least in Wimbledon. No doubt they seem to be stronger than many men in the game.

Sania no doubt has the making to reach higher levels but still has a long way to go to come up to that level. She has to work very very hard and seriously to come anywhere close to their level.

I would not be surprised if the sisters are able to beat our doubles wizards Hesh and Lee (Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes) in the singles individually and may be in doubles as well.

This indicates that India itself has a long way to go in the world of tennis. The reason is lack of proper planning, training, perseverence and a killer instinct with a will to win!!

Balls! Nothing of this. The only real reason is lack of "Sports Culture" in India, nothing else. There will only be a handful in this country who really think of sport in the sense of taking interest, learning & becoming Sportspersons. But the majority of this country still is uninterested in Sport as a whole. This has 2 fronts -

a) Front 1:
In a normal Indian household, when the child is out playing, a shrill voice from the house breaks in, "What are you doing, you fool? Playing outside? Come & study in the house now. What big enterprise are you going to undertake by becoming a Sportsperson" But the same guardians are happy & sing a joly tune when their child starts waiting on some Local Neta/ Goonda or starts wasting hours in the Ofiice of any Political Party.

b) Front 2:
In a wealthy Indian household, it's a different story altogether. Money is just rotting in their coffers. So they start sending their child to some sports classes. But mind you, this is not to improve the child & make him a "Champion", NO! This is just to show - off in Society, "See? My child goes to the Costliest Club, has the Best Trainers(?!) to teach him. One day, he will surely be in Indian Squad." But then, that future one day when you see him, he is seen sitting with his greedy parents who are negotiating wit

One day, he will surely be in Indian Squad." But then, that future one day when you see him, he is seen sitting with his greedy parents who are negotiating with some Girl's Family & talking false shit; "Arrey hamara beta to Champion hai. Us falane falane Indian Player ke saath match khela hai(?!). Kam mat samajhna. Dahej bhi tagda chahiye." Beggars!

No wonder then that a country which has overtaken China in terms of Population Count cannot still think of making any impression in the World of Sport, even 60 years after Independence. But when a Bhupati or Anand or Sania or anybody does try to make a mark, we will pull their legs. Shame!

If you still insist, the Olympics are just round the corner. If India makes any incredible impact on the medal tally, I will give a Bow. But if not (which is the maximum possibilty), a point will be proved again. As always, this Olympics is going to be a gala Picnic/ Shopping Spree for Relatives, Friends, Acquaintances, Chamchas of all ministers & Govt. Officials who will outnumber the Real Athletes in Indian Squad.

First of all, stop commenting just because you want to show - off to others that "See mates? I kicked this bloke where it hurts. I am Superior....." Yes! You surely are of that Impotent Category.
As for my contribution, I may not have been able to shine in Sports for reasons whatsoever. Even then, I am trying to suffice that by gradually edging my Daughter towards Sport. She may or may not become a "Champion" but at least, this will be my contribution like the squirell in Rama's story.
As for you, you will stay as a NON - ENTITY always, just trying to pull other's legs.

I think Williams sisters should not be allowed to play womens tennis, the way both the sisters serve it can beat a men too. They should play Men's singles.

In most competitions, she's not Sania Mirza, but rather Sania "Ghar jaa".

Don't plead Ganeshji; remember, your pleas will always be falling on deafest ears & will never reach the dumbest brains. That's India, for you.
