Waste of public money. I would reather say the benchmark for participation in olympics should be the Bronze Medalist record in last olympics or the latest world record or the average of last 10 significant tournments. Lets say the high jump record for bronze in last olympics is 4 meters and recent concluded world athletic meet reecord for bronze is 3.8. If our athlete is not jumping atleast 3.8 meters in practice then these is no use in sending, as we are sure of him not winnning at least a medal. The same logic tobe applied to al sports. Where there there is no concrete figures like 4 meteres are available, we can consider winning in a major tournments in last 2 years can be considered for inclusion in team.Makes sense??? Your commeents please..
India should pull out of the olympics as its tally would remain in single figure...we donot have the talent to represent us in this mega event and nurturing talent in India is like sending rocket to moon...the fund allocated to these useless sportsmen can be diverted to some public welfare schemes...these cost cutting would go a long way in bringing down our fiscal deficeit...

You would be better off suggesting ways in which we can improve. Just a bit of trimming up in shooting, boxing, badminton would allow India to get medals. Sports is what will keep energy levels up for our nation!!
India should invest more in Olympics games. Look at China, how much money is spent in Gymnastics and all other sorts of sports, India is keen only on Cricket. A country with second highest population but we haven't won a gold medal. Encourage youngester and give them the money, for Indians we lean whereever there is more prospects. Except cricket, other games are not considered either posh or income earning, and that's what we should change.

You are mistaken ,India is investing 20000 Crores for Common wealth games .But way this money goes, is not like China. All money is going in some way or another to contractors through sports bodies for construction of infrastructures, because Govt feels that once infrastructure is ready players will automatically produced . That is the reason that our sports bodies are rich ,people from bodies are millionare and billinare but sports person has to play with his own bought equipment.Once he becomes great like Tendulkar etc than these bodies start raining money on them.So here very tough competetion is there to become member of bodies , as it results in controlling billions of fund .Player do not get even millionth of part from sports bodies fund.Imagine kind of efforts that Indian sports person is making. They have to put ten times more effort to match same ranking players from players of USA,European countries. Thanks to our great politicians and business persons.
Indian Govt should not waste money in the name of Olympics. We have close to 0% prospects in olympics (just 1 bronze medal each for the past 3 olypmics)

Sania is now involved in show business rather playing tennis. She should be shown in the ramp wearing bikini not in the tennis feild and she is heading towards it.
