I think that they are sensational tennis players. They have probably done what no other tenis players have done - two people from one family dominating a sports. It\'s a shame that we can\'t see past the obvious and be proud of what the two American women are accomplishing in tennis. It should make us proud as Americans.
I don't know what's wrong if the top seeds don't win matches all the time. Why do we need ONE champion to just dominate all tournaments? That'll make the game so boring! No one else gets a chance to win. It's good if there is no single stable top player in a game like tennis, as it brings more talent into the pool. Even an unfancied player can win on his /her day.
Compare it to cricket - it's just like Australia destroying all teams in tests and ODI's - nobody's able to catch up. Wouldn't it be better if more teams like S.A., India, Sri Lanka also won a fair share of tests against AUS and amongst themselves, so that nobody could be unequivocally called a champion?
One month, Sri would be No. 1, a series later, South Africa wins the top spot, then Australia, then India and so on - the competition would be excellent!
Sport needs variety. It gets boring if there is only one or two at the top who keep on winning everytime. And it DOES NOT lead to a gradual improvement of standards, as more and more players get frustrated at not even having a whiff of a chance to win. A tournament with a pre-defined champion is boring "Ah, he will win anyways, others have no chance". It's great if every player has an equal chance to win! I would love it if there was a new winner in each tennis tournament every year!

the way u want is possible in reality shows are if matches are fixed so that all get top spot. it is childish. will u watch when USA and berbuma play cricket. Sporting events should be highly competitive. Bcos of fedex and rafa mens tennis became exciting bcos all players want to defeat them thus raisng the standards. Just for few audience the game should become mediocre.
Relay sport loving person will love the game even if it is one sided

Since the entry of the Williams sisters, women tennis has become what can be described as 'Power' Tennis - hit hard, grunt loud and win matches. Gone were the days of Graf and Hingis (just a few names) who showed how to apply skill at the highest level till Henin showed the big gals what mattered most in winning.
Henin's loss can never be filled-up by the hard hitters and loud grunters.

Henin was the best womens player. But she never dominated like how Federer did for the last 3 years(excluding this one). If you look at total grand slam trophies, Henin has less than Serena Williams. Moreover she has never won Wimbledon which is the most prestigious tennis tournament and which every champion should win to be called a champion.

It is appropriate to recall what Federer said a couple of months back. "There is a little diffrerence between the first 10 seeds. Anyone can win a match on his day. Youngsters are catching up fast but unfortunately only few sustain". How true!
Top seeded players can not take things for granted. Lower seeded players keep improving and play without pressure. A real champion is one who comes thru under any situation. Obviously Sharapova and Anna cant cut it. They have been put on a pedestal owing to their glamour.Henin just cant take the torture of getting prepared and hence retired rather soon while still riding high.
