BTW, Sania playing the Aus Open has nothing to do with the Indian Govt. She is not govt sponsored. So stop blaming the govt for this you good for nothing as*s*hole
I am surprised at the way people comment on things like they themselves ruled the sport at one time. Has anyone of the critics ever held a tennis racket in their hands..Sania reached the third round and tried the best she could... How many of those commenting can even try and hit a baseline shot like her.... try getting it over the net first.....Instead of barking like dogs, try and make a difference in things you do in your own way. Then you will look at the better things in life and start appreciating other's achievements.....
Sania is contracted to Mahesh's company globosport. So he is always supporting this average tennis player coz of the money she brings.Both are big time losers. Leander has won so many matches in the davis cup and won a bronze at the olympics but Mahesh just piggy backed on leander and made it big. The less said about Sania Mirza's tennis skills the better. We have to stop patronizing these fake superstars. But we being Indians we will oogle at Sania Mirza's body than her tennis. By the way do the young Indians who support Sania Mirza know who Boris becker was? John McEnroe anyone? Guga? Fake fans all.

You are talking about Lendl? he was my Idol growing up you bum. Do you know how many slams Lendl has won? Do you know how many straight US open finals he has played in? I dont comment for commenting sake. I am passionate about tennis and am sorry to see sorry a ss fans like you supporting useless Sania Mirza. Do you know Sabatini has won just one US open crown? Get an education you moron. And by the way Lendl is now a part time Golf Pro who accompaines his daughter to golf tounrnamnets.

Hey JK Cool down. everyone has their own liking and dislikings. It is not needed that everyone will love only the best. As in cricket people compare Dhoni with Tendulkar, so what? Any cricket buff knows difference between the two but its the public. they love whoever they want to love. As in case of Ivan Lendl, he was great as was Sampras but people loved Boris becker and Agassi more during their time. So you need not take it seriously.

guys pls understand,she's reached here on her own with no money n support initially.so how muchever well she plays n tries she can't cross a certain benchmark which is a result of second-class training available.pls all these superstars have undergone worldclass training at some point atleast.lets ncourage our kids to get insired from her so tht we churn out top seeded players of the future.hope our govt alo takes cue from her struggles for success.

Nisha, its not that she does not have any money. She has all the resources she needs to go ahead. But I guess she is happy with 3rd round exits and earning more from advertisements. I think you are right in saying that this should act as a inspiration to the new generation, but I dont agree with you in saying that she reached here without any help. Her performance clearly shows that she is not talented.

Indians support Sania because she has reached a position which no other Indian lady has ever reached till now. I do not think anything is wrong in that . As for whether Sania is good enough, everybody will have their own opinion. But fact says that she is World Number 31 ...and she is there to compete in tennis so it shouldn't matter whether she is fat or thin. She has still some way to go to be among the elite but she is at least close. One should try and appreciate that rather than criticizing her blindly.

JK you seem to know quite a bit ...but going by your comments you are a moron ...bcoz u don't have empathy for tennis pros. the kind of support that an indian gets vis a vis a westerner is 1:1000. Sania made it to world's top 30 which is certainly above average. I am sure you would NOT've made even to top 500 in ATP. Bhupathi has on 10 grandslam (doubles and mixed) out of which only 3 've come with paes, also in doubles he has got more doubles titles than paes...so maybe u need to update ur tennis knowledge a bit. The least tht we indians can do is to morally support our players. :) and by the way I have met the likes of ramathan, ramesh krishnan, vijay ,anand amritraj, Courier, Ivanesevic, Todd martin, Paes, Bhupathi, Jeeshan ali, Jonas bjorkman, byron black, thomas enquist,Petr Korda, Moya, Nadal, Agassi, Becker,Safin, n d adorable ice cool borg. Just chill and let us all support our players.

Good to meet a tennis lover like you. But I differ on your assesment about we Indians not getting enough support. Serbis is a war torn country with absolutely no infrastructure. How come you have teens like Ivanovic and Novak Jokovic making waves? Ivanovic herself told the media that she practiced in empty swiming pools. his is no excuse my friend. India has everying going for it the last 10 years. Dont be a cry baby pointing fingers at the Infrastructre and support.

Very well said Gaurav. We Indians are in love with mediocrity and glamour. Any good looking lady or gent comes out with a reasonable performance becomes a hearthrob in no time. At the sametime, if a not so good looking lady (like Malleswari) creates a world record, no one remembers her. Thats why I keep saying se*x sells and we are all hypocrites in not agreeing to this.

Raman I think you dont watch Tennis. Maybe you are watching Sania in the adverisements and think that is tennis. If you can show me one player as fat and heavy as Sania in the top 50 I shall never comment about her in my life. I mean fat fat. Not muscular. Show me a heavy chested player in the top 50. Show me just one.

Yes. Rightly said. Leander is an attitude and it was his father who messed up everything particularly the relationship with Mahesh. Mahesh is more humble and has won more titles than Leander. Leander is just a philander who knows how to keep changing his g/f than a racquet. Sania is also a good player.....the only problem is everybody wants to use her name for their own publicity - filing false cases in the courts and disturbing her mental strength.

It doesnt matter if sania or mahesh dont win australian open or in fact any other grandslam. we are supporting them as they are from India. I dont see anything wrong in supporting our fellow countrymen. No one is arguing abt the greatness of the other players you mentioned. they are great. period. comming to sania or bhupati, they are among the best who is from india. so obviously they are in the ads or commercials. I dont understand why you are against people supporting her.
Please don't overhype her achievements. It is because of this that she has become so arrogant. Have you ever heard her speak to the media. Man she is nuts and very heavy headed. She should be brought back to the ground. It is just because she is se*xy that she gets so much attention. Why do other sports women not get this adulation, because they are not good looking? I am not degrading her achievement, but trying to highlight that she is not the only good sportswomen in India. Yes, in tennis, she is India's best and has brought the game into limelight for women, but please dont overhype her.
