Accept the public's choice. Sanjiv Kumar may be the finest actor but it was Amitabh all the way. We may do well in Tennis, Chess and Golf, but public is mad about cricket.
How many can recognize Jeev Milkha Singh but every one knows Md. Kaif.
That may be a pity for sports administrators but not for public. Satyajit Ray move or Ramesh Sippy movie? Public ka verdict kya hoga?

Dear Bongu,
ramen is correct. One can't see a better future at this age. Take the case of Sania, she is a better performer from the age of 19. This is not donning a nation. Don't link this with the case.

exactly!!! these days editors do not know what is 'edit' i guess. We understand there is nothing wrong in using 'gun down', there are obviously more appropriate phrases to use in sports, which i think the rediff editors think are not catchy!
Paes will be dissapointed to lose so early at a slam, but having followed him over the years, i know he will be happy for Boppana. For several years he has been advocating the likes of Boppana's n Mirza's to step up, and its not such a bad thing if the new generation of Indian tennis players take over from Leander and Mahesh. At this time, we don't have a world beater except may be Sania, but i know Bhupathi is putting in a lot of work at the ground level to raise the next crop of tennis players.
While Sania and up to some extent Boppana are good for tennis in India, we really need to prduce a flock of them like the Russians do. We need atleast a dozen male and female tennis wannabe's in the Top 100. For far too long Indian tennis has been carried by lone warriors and its time for a whole army of them.
