Storm?
by Naveen Bhatt on Jan 16, 2008 01:36 PM

Why is it never possible for Sania to just win or lose? Either she \\\"Storms into xyz round\\\", or she \\\"crashes out of xyz tournament\\\". Can we avoid these silly cliches and just say whether she won or lost?

Sania should respect dress code
by Mohammed Kureshi on Jan 16, 2008 11:36 AM  | Hide replies

There is absolutely no need in women's tennis to wear short skirts to expose your naked legs & thighs. If that is the case then men players should wear briefs instead of half pants. But this is not happeneing as it is really not required.
Sania should stop wearing short skirts & exposing her body or should quit tennis.

Kureshi, you should check that men expose their legs and thighs as well. Players like Williams sisters, steffi graf and many more wear shorts before wearing the skirt. While playing tennis a players legs get stretched. Skirt is symbolic to womens tennis as shorts are to mens tennis. Its a code. But why are we arguing with you? In all the games of sania mirza all you saw were her legs and exposed body parts. I am starting to presume that for you tennis is more like a repulsive porn-fest and not a sport. While Anju George runs all you can see is her legs. While malleshwari lifts weight all you may see is the body fitting spandex. You should check your thoughts before arguing. Seriously think about it. I dare you to make your children sports professionals. I DARE YOU!

Its ok for Williams, Anju & Malleshwari. But not acceptable for Sania. She is from the different community & playing evil's game.

Not just Sania, but all ladies. Reasons:
1. I don't see the same among men, even Federer has long shorts!
2. I don't see the same among women in other faster sports like Badminton. Tennis seems to be more show than substance.

Now-a-days freedom is being equated with nuidity, which us a very dangerous trend. People are slapping Islam for orthodox thoughts, but it is the only way to progress. Unlimited freddom is more dangerous than unlimited restriction.
Brother Naveen is absolutely right & it is welcome if the dress code is applied to all women in sports.
I don't want to insist it to other players because other members will again use this opportunity to slap Islam.
Indian government should take the necessary steps to prevent Sania from harming the sentiments of Muslims.

Mohammed, your thoughts are entirely illogical. Islam is not the "only way to progress". Infact I would state the opposite - Sania progressed despite being a Muslim! I am talking purely from a sports perspective.
