Congrats Mr. Mallya
by nitin sinha on Jan 12, 2008 12:07 PM

Full marks to Vijay Mallya for bringing the sport to India..although India always had many many fans for this sport, now we can have more passion given the team is an indian team. It is a common practice in F1 that the team is from one country and drivers from some other. So lets not break our heads as why Narain or Chandhok are not the racing drivers for the team. keeping 2010 as the target when the race actually comes to India, Mr. Mallaya's comments sounds reasonable.

Mallya is not a fool to put so much of his money to make all the Indians proud...He is a self centered businessman with no ethics...He can milk so much from this hype...

Hey !!
There is somebody (bussiness) up there trying to bring a non existing sport to India, should appreciate it.
There are many people like u who will criticize or try to pull down somebody.
Forget the government trying to do that. See the case of cricket monopoly BCCI.

We dont have expertise in it. Lets get hands on and wait for the sport to catch we can have better drivers than NK or KC coming up !!! Till then outsource or hire services..

Great Thinking by Mallya!!
by Mohd Izhar on Jan 11, 2008 09:02 PM  | Hide replies

It seems to be a good idea for that engineering team has to learn from inputs from experienced drivers to improve on the car tech management. Ofcourse, once we get the exp Mallya would like to try the Indian drivers. Though the drivers from overseas, however the team bears the name oof India. Hope Indian name in F1 will shine and wish good luck to the team!!

Force India?
by on Jan 11, 2008 08:01 PM

It is very childish to think Indians will accept "forceindia" as an indian team, when the drivers are actually non-indians.This is as good as indian cricket team with all foreign players and a Indian coach.

Force India
by SATHISH RAO on Jan 11, 2008 07:29 PM

I am very optimistic about the Force India F1 Tema chances this year. But If Malya continue to fund for three years with big budget & also if Malya can bring the Expeirenced Engineering team, then we may expect a result after 3 to 4 years I.e., complete dedication & Hard work will be required. Other wise it is another bottom side team.

that was well known, only he shouldnt have used that moniker
by raj on Jan 11, 2008 06:48 PM  | Hide replies

what did mallya reckon ? name his team "force india" something that meant a force to be reckoned with only in the name and not with results ? any f1 fan would know that. and i'd bet he named his team for popularity reasons.

im proud that he picked a team , something commendable. but its a bit of an irony. but its refreshing to know the boss admits his team can perform no miracles.
