Will Anju George get at least as much recognition/sponsorship as Sania Mirza, in spite of being far better than Sania in world ranking? No! because, Anju is not a Muslim

Non-sence,
Be rational before writing something like this, Sania is all to do with Media not because she is a muslim. What Anju needs is a good PRO who can address or evoke interest among the sponsors.

as Olympics is nearing, indians should show and give support to our olympics team, they are the ones who are really doing it for the honor of our country. it is really sad in a country like india where we have world's 2nd largest population we are yet have a major breakthru in olympics. its this money greedy cricket which is not allowing other sports to come up in india.
Congrats and all that but look at the distance, it's hardly up to any standard. So while she won the silver, it was probably due to poor participation by other Asian strongs.
Note that the record levels are around almost a metre longer than what she has jumped, so if this was the Olympics she would probably not have qualified for the final round.
Once again, don't mean to sound discouraging, but lets not assume this is a great thing...

I donot disagree with you, but, would like to point out that Anju has herself done better than this earlier and now her age is on the other side of her career, inspite of all these odds she is focused and yet winning medals for our Nation, I salute her, not that she has done a 6.38 But because inspite of her age she has done better than all indians! Therefore she is the best in India! and has done india proud internationally too!!!

its easy to be an arm chair critic, but consider her plight and that of all of the India's non cricket playing sportspersons who give up their love for their respective games for lack of funds - Jack
