DLTA and RK Khanna lawns
by Virendra Singh on Feb 11, 2008 10:14 AM  | Hide replies

Congratulations to Indian team for a well deserved victory.
However, if anybody has actually watched the matches they will know the lawns and courts are pathetic to say the least. If DLTA is organising such big events they ought to take care where they are asking the players to perform. The lawn is uneven and patchy. Gives yet another poor show in front of world media.

The surface is horrible indeed. If you observed, players were not tossing the ball before serving. Ball never bounced to the right level. That was the reason, I didn't go to watch the match. It was pathetic to say the least.

Why is tennis not covered well by the media
by Benjamin Ross on Feb 10, 2008 09:24 PM

Rediff has this article well after the cricket success. The news media is spending hours about the cricket win and not much about this success which is teamwork.

Once again the young ones have triumphed. We must have more domestic tournaments to unearth fresh talent for the future.

Amritraj has observed the Pressure
by P Sameer on Feb 10, 2008 07:40 PM  | Hide replies

A good thing about AmritRaj is he has performed under tremondous Pressure and produce the result which is unusual for an Indian.
As our Indian Cricket Team senior Players will tremble like pack of cards in under pressure Matches.
Now onwards youth should be given more exposure in pressure situation as well because from long time it has been indias weekness in sports Arena
They never perform well in pressure situation.
Mental strength is also a part talented player If he is going to sustain the pressure then definatly he will succeed.

'Senior players will tremble like pack of cards'. I do now know when it happened at least in tennis. In Davis Cup, we had some close finishes like this in the past also where India came out winners, with Paes, Bhupathi, Ramesh Krishnan, all contributing in their times. TAhe very phrase, 'pack of cards' does'nt fit here.

India won today against Australia and the Man of the Match was Ishant Sharma who is a teenager. Rohit Sharma , 21, played a good innings. India won the 20-20 world cup with the help of youngsters. so your analogies are out of place. If India needs to develop good sportspersons they should think of making sport a serious subject in schools.

This is the best possible way of answering anybody. You need not set up a meeting with the media and explain or complain. Just play your game. Things will fall in place. This is perfect professionalism.
