It is rare to see over 3/4ths of the nation rooting for Giants
by Hari Narayanan on Feb 04, 2008 11:01 PM  | Hide replies

Normally, NY teams are known for arrogance with/without the accompanying dominance that makes people over 100 miles west of Hudson hate them. On this day, it was NE Pats that exhibited such arrogance and NY Gmen were the cherished underdogs. What a feeling it is?! Pretty close to how I felt when Kapil's devils won the Worldcup in 83.

The cost of advertising in superball for 1/2 min is 2 M USD. (My company paid this.) The popularity of Super Ball is unbelievable.
Now I understand that something is beyond Cricket...:)

I was not talking about superbowl, was talking about superball, which is not the american football.
You need to develop your knowledge.

Some people believe that making superbowl their favourite game makes them look and sound American.

So, did making cricket your favourite game make you feel English?

well.. do u suffer an inferiority complex ? I play cricket, soccer and many other games. and I love American football as well. People like you who mix sports with nationality is the problem for India in the current age. Maybe you dont understand the game.

Herald,

This type of mentality will not take you anywhere in your life. I have had several friends and collegaues in the US who wanted to know about crikcet and wanted to play and even played with me several times. Indians are real racists and coming to the rediff forum will show 100% proof for that. If we Indians cannot stand united and accept and learn something what is the point in talking about becoming a super power. We have so much division within the country and we back Harbhajan for calling Symonds a Monkey which is pathetic. We will never be one until guys like herald lives in this country.

Greatest Superbowl in my last 10 years
by deep J on Feb 04, 2008 09:08 PM  | Hide replies

This is the greatest SuperBowl that I ever watched in the last 10 years. Manning's final touchdown scoring drive was awesome/terrific/excellent/magnificent.
NY Gaints gave the exact same pill to NE Patriots to swallow.
Eventhough I'm not a great fan of NY Gaints, on any given day, I can root for all the 31 teams who play against NE Patriots. I really enjoyed the 5 sacks of Tom Brady.

Unbreakables finally got broken in to pieces. May the NE Patriots soul rest in peace.

I am a huge Eagles fan but I hated the Pats even more than the Giants so it goes to show that the NFC East is the dominant division in the NFL and if the Patriots were to play in the NFC East they wouldn't have remained unbeaten....Good job, G-Men.

If you seen the warmups before the game all the Giants players were pumped up and excited and all the Pats players were acting like bums. Clearly, Eli was the bigger man and quarterback yesterday.....clearly

sONIA YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT rAJA THAKERAY AND AMITABH WAR , NOT THESE FOREIGN GAMES, OUR COUNTRY HAS WITNESSED VIOLENCE AND YOU ARE PAYING ATTENTION TO AMERICAN GAMES, THIS IS NOT FAIR, GIVE ATTENTION TO DOMESTIC CAUSES WHICH ARE SERIOUS, LIKE AMIT JI BEING ATTACKED BY THAKERAY SAAB.

Phew... What a game... 3 lead changes in the final quarter... omg

The Giants were freaking awesome... 5 sacks to Brady, and Manning shut all the experts up.

GO GIANTS

The offensive line for the Patriots were completely missing yesterday. The protection that Brady gets wasn't there and unfortunately the defensive schemes were too overwhelming and Brady failed to escape the blitzes. If you put pressure from different quartes be it a cornerback blitz or a straight-up linebacker blitz, it's very difficult if you can't get rid of the ball. I feel proud because it was a former Eagle, defensive co-ordinator Steve Spagnuolo, who did the job for the Giants

yup...remind me of steelers-colts game in 2005. Blitzburgh's (Pittsburgh) Joey Porter almost killed Manning.
