WAY TO GO SAINA!!!
Though the difference between you & Sania Mirza is apparently in an interchanged syllable, but still both of are a world apart when it comes to investing the sheer dedication that goes into the making of a sports person..No disregards 2 Sania..She did show the initial spark, but lost her way somewhere up the road in all the hype, hoopla & adulation of the media & mob alike.Hope she ultimately doesn't bcom India's answer 2 Anna Kournikova..Hope in earnest,as an Indian that she leaves her troubles behind & comes back stronger to her former days of glory-ASAP.
But, now Saina is the new toast of the nation. She is humble, doesn't carry that inflated ego like Sania & quietly goes about her job unperturbed by all distractions around her;qualities that augur well for her future as she's got a long way 2 go.
Its a pity that Badminton quite doesn't enjoy the patronage of Indians like Cricket,Tennis. But perhaps thats good given the outcome in the past,in some cases of sports persons being the darling of the media, getting complacent, losing focus & ultimately fading into oblivion...

So,here's to u Saina..CONGRATS on your new found success & wish u all the best for the future. Nurture those qualities in u that brought u this far & may u scale those unprecedented heights of success & remain there for long... and make yourself & us Indians proud... :)

I didnt want to but, i will only reply because if you have been a sportsman ever, you are never the same after any injury in leg, and she had a severe ankle injury. and Ana's was the worse.

Saurabh,

Please check that Anna's tennis records are far more better than Sania.... she was in Top 10 and had many titles in doubles and a tier 2 title in singles too. Dont insult Anna comparing with Sania in terms of Tennis.

Thanx 4 correcting me Mr.Kaul...
Of course the impact of the spate of injuries she is hosting also counts.. I may hav forgotten to mention dat (my apologies 4 dat)... bt somewhere I feel there's more to the cause of her dismal run of recent times than injuries alone. Why be a sports person & whine all your life blaming all your ill fortunes on injuries ? Why not consider people like Kumble & Sachin ?? They have had their share of injuries like tennis elbow, fractured jaw, shoulder injuries.Didn't they come back stronger ??

For the record, Anna's example was jst a grim reminder of the result of media excesses...
If there's a little more dedication & a fair bit of soul searching, even those injuries can b taken care of.Even somebody like Martina Hingis came out of retirement to bounce back into the Top 20 before she had to hang up her boots again for dat doping scandal incident...

So, there u are... the facts r there...

Why even talk about Sania Mirza here. This is about Saina who is in badminton and an entirely different sport. There's no need to compare with Sania Mirza. At this rate, you should be comparing her to PT Usha as well.

U are doing good Saina

Saina is really working hard for the way up in ranking and we can see the effort that she puts for reaching there unlike sania mirza who is just a model rather than a sports icon.

All the best Saina get going , u missed in olympics but its okay.

Sania Mirza's ranking has gone down not b'coz she does modelling, but b'coz she has injuries. All top sportsman like Roger Federer, Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant, David Beckham have modelled, so Sania should do modelling. That way she can inspire more people & get them interested in the sport of tennis
