Football is most technical sport and mentally much more tough than cricket
by Ram Mohan on Aug 28, 2008 10:03 PM

as arsene wenger said in his latest interview

\"But I ask, speaking as a father of a five-year-old, what can I teach him at that age? \"To kick correctly the ball. To put him in situations where he develops his skill. The talent of a coach is to put an exercise to a player that he has to find the solution to. If he does not, you teach him to do it better. If the exercise is too easy, or too difficult, he will not learn. And he has to find it out for himself. What makes football special is you have a billion techniques. It is not like in tennis where you hit the ball.\" Wenger demonstrates a low forehand. Then, with more demonstration, he adds, \"In football when you come to hit the ball you have someone pushing you on the top of your left shoulder, and you still have to keep your balance and hit the ball right. At the start your basic movements have to be right, then you adapt\"

Mentally football stands several notches ahead of cricket and many other sports. every thing is done and dusted in 90 mins..

for that u just need to follow careers of players like bekenbaur, keane, tony adams, viera and maldini...

and cricket is a terrible sport whichs only popular in south asia...

Grow up super sucess

I LOVE CRICKET. CRICKET NEED MENTAL AS WELL AS PHYSICAL EXERCISE WHEREAS IN FOOTBALL JUST KICKING BALL HERE AND THERE DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.

Yes...Yes....you are absolutely right...Football sucks!!!!...get a frekin life,mate...

Football is the best game in this whole wide world and stats will prove me right as well. Cricket is a decent game, fair enough, but what i hate is the bloody arrogance with which it is run especially in this country with little repect for Football.

You can even play football which is just a 90 minutes game. Only tough guys can play games like football and who told you that Mental exercise is not required in football??? It has been more than 30 years that World Cup Cricket has started but still only a few countries plays the game and I can count it in my fingers.

some of us have the habit of speaking out of context. This is for two reasons. One is, we don't understand what is being said. Two, we have no idea how grievances should be aired.
No country for uneducated men/women!

It is this very mentality of people that has smothered the development of football in this country.

Man Utd,Liverpool ,Arsenal are arguably the greatest ever institutions of football and their fan following in india is growing by the day.So it is quite obvious to report on how they have performed in the greatest competition in football that is the champions league (yes even bigger than the WC atleast for me)...

To be fair rediff did report about our performances in the AFC cup,so i have no idea what you are on about?

Here is article of Indian Football:
There are two states in entire India where people prefer to play more soccer than cricket. Apart from these two states rest of the states are either cricket maniac or interested in some other games. The two states which play soccer are West Bengal and Goa. Out of these two West bengal attracts more soccer player but they lack fund and infrastructure. India has only one international sub standard soccer stadium which is Kolkata Salt Lake Kridanagan. Players from Cameroon and other African country comes to play. Unfortunate part is there is one minister (stinks) again holding the president post of AIFF Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi just like paralytic Sarad Pawar holding for cricket.

I had been a avid soccer player and forget about me I know a footballer who is without any second choice be next to Baichung Bhutia or I.M.Vijayan but that guy career is now over he is a railway worker. None of the club gave him scope bcoz he had no backing and he is from a small place. If anyone is from Kharagpur WB then ask them about Biswaranjan Dalai. One will be mesmerized to see his control, dribbling and pace on ground. More than that he was result oriented who knew to convert goals. I myself was soccer mania but never heard abt ManU, RealMadrid when we were in small town yes we knew Mohun Bagan, East Bengal, Dempo, Salgaokar, etc. I also won gold in snap shooting with .25 rifle but no guide.I left my passion for sport as I had to look for family.

Another story about a friend of mine who played for U-19 Cricket at district level probably in 1994 when Midnapore won the trophy. My ffriend G.V.Upendra Rao who was an allrounder played major role in winning. After the match they got trophy and were asked to collect certificates from Eden Garden CAB Office. Till this date this friend of mine has not received it. He was unofficially told by one gentleman that it is of no use as his certificate has been sold to someone else. No one helped him. G.V.Upendra Rao is now married happily and sells T-Shirt, Jeans, etc in a small shop in Kharagpur Gole bazar near Shimla Center. Please verify.

No complain we can only be a nation excelling in sport when parents can support the expense of kids passion in sport. Another is the person is born talent.

We had proved watching IPL tournament..Whole india wathced..Dont comapre Indian football with europeam football..Indian football is far far par below Europeam soccer..The player salries are weekly basis.. John terry draws 90 lakh Indian rupees salary per week... That we cant comapre with our inidan cricket player salaries.. rediff doing right by posting these soccer news....In india also most people watch EPL and champions league football..
