There are some illiterate idiots who can only make senseless and baseless statements. FYI -- there are only 5 teams in history who have won fifa wold cup more than once. They are brazil, italy, germany, argentia and uruguay. Spain hasnt reached SF even once in the coveted tournament. Holland won it once, way back in 1974 and havent reached the last 4 stage since then. Even teams like brazil havent been all that consistant. They won everything between 58 -72 (Pele's era) and then between 94 and 2002 ( romario/ ronaldo era). They do not have a lot to show other than that. Now to talk about argentina, they have been treated as favourites in most of the tournaments after 78 and lost many of the knock out matches in PKs. I think they stand right up with the mights of brazin, germany and italy if not more.

1) Holland have never won a soccer World cup..they were losing finalists to W Germany in 1974... They were also losing finalists to Argentina in 1978 in Buenos Aires... They also reached the semifinals in 1998...so your knowledge is all wrong..
Argentina have lost only once in a penalty shootout, to Germany in 2006 in QF....

As far as Argentina are concerned, they have been extremely ordinary after 1990...in 1994, they lost to Bulgaria and Romania and got eliminated...in 1998, they lost to Holland in quarters..in 2002, they weren't able to progress beyond the 1st round and in 2006, they messed up against Germany... This record is not the record of champions.... Argentina are definitely not in the same league as Brazil, Germany, Italy....

hello statitics always doesnt show the caliber of anything most of the time they were losing out in critical matches after showing good football argentina has been one amongst favorite teams of football fans around the glob .though it has not won many cups as brazil ,german ..italy.. and it is sure that matches of argentina get more attention than germanies and italy ...

Arg Vs. Germany QF in 2006 should have been the final. They lost by a whisker on a bad substitution. For youth tournaments, Arg has won 5 of the last 7 and are Olympic champs of 2004 and 2008. Simplest way is to see the betting odds when a WC starts, or any other World level competition.
Argentina do not belong to the elite league in soccer...the elite league is made up of Brazil, Italy, Germany, Spain(now) and Holland!!
In world cups, Argentina would not be able to touch these teams.,.......they can do well only in Popatwadi tournaments like the Olympics....no chance in serious tournaments like the World cup....
I'm sure even India might beat Argentina in a World cup if Bhutia plays really well.....ARgentina have holes in their defence, their forward line is hopeless and cannot finish a mid-field move and they are hopeless in penalty shootouts..all in all, a bunch a useless morons!!!!

Argentina may not beat them in World Cup but they(Argentinians) can but any team from Your elite Club in Olympics.Infact they beat Brazil with a good 3-0 margin in the semis this shows the skills of Argentinians are capable of becoming a member of your elite club.

spain hasn't even played in a final of world cup; how is it elite? Argentina has played in 4 finals and won the cup twice.

Holland lost to germany in 1974 final
Argentina played under Italian flag in 1938 to win the cup.....Maradona is the greatest....all are facts....please check if u differ
