Kashabha Jadhav win award 50 year back, when Indian government refuse pay him for his ticket & other expenses. So Kashabha Jadhav villager come forwards collected money for Kashabha Jadhav air ticket. That time India won his first wrestling bronze medal. Now I hope time is changed ?

That time political awareness is at its nadir. Today its all about political mileage.
Rewards should be given to all those who tried hard but lost it at the last stage like saina nehwal,akhil kumar,jitender kumar,leander peas and mahesh bhupati.Infact many in archery and rowing also tried their best to their ability.So they also should be rewarded.
Sania Mirza and her mother,Anju George and her Husband can be given Tourist visas instead of Sports Visas in the next olympics so that they can enjoy at tax payers money.

u guys dont leave a trick when it comes to degrading anybody...loosers first see wht they hv done so tht they r able to get some rewards...
In our country all the players those who get name and fame slowly lose playing their games and gets decayed. some try to do business and others wants to open restuarants. It is good and one should be rewarded financially for ones acheivement in all fields. But the amount we are pouring on one player after he wins a match could have brought several players playing for the country if the same amount would have been spent to develop the talent. Look to what Rathore did, soon after getting an add. for a motorcycle he lost his aim. So as sanya and Anju bobby George who could not qualify. The media is also in a way responsible for it. They create such a fuss about everylittle achievement that the players starts thinking themselves to be kings and soon gets absorbed in materiastic and luxury things. No player after getting money wants to open a Gym or build a swimming pool. The winners of Beijing olympics will soon be made brand ambassadors and will be given so much facilities that they will hardly thing of their game. Name and fame is not everything ' Dignity of sports and Dignity of ones country should get topmost priority. The winners of the medals now should not forget this and they should try to concentrate on their game and aim at next olympics.

Bull Shit !!! Why do u people feel so jealous when these poor lower middle class family guys get something ? These sports-persons are not able to feed their families out of their sports ... and medals in Olympics is no way a LITTLE THING my dear friend ... They are amongst the best of the world ... They deserve this for sure ... only then the guys in other sports besides cricket and tennis will be motivated to perform ... As far these guys performing in next olympic, why do we need them to perform if we have a pool of motivated youths raring to go for the gold ... So keep your crab mentality philosophy and let them enjoy their achievement ...

Well said. Now this Sushil kumar will either start a dairy farm or truck business with the price money and enjoy leading a relaxed life.In next olympics he might not even qualify or would get eliminated in first bout itself.

Mahendra, You have a typical metro mentality, which has hatred towards the village people. Most of the army, and grain comes from the villages. For me village people are real heroes who provide security and food to all country.
India has always had good wrestlers,many of them would have rose to occasion had they been managed well.Sushil has done the incredible just by his strong will and guts and it is a shame that the rewards are given afterwards and nothing is usually done for them before that..Congrats Sushil ...way to go man and keep it up.

but he does have a broze medal which none of the email id owning "it" pros have! I am happy that such a simple and down to earth boy from rural india has made a billion odd proud! He is with the railways and with a promotion already in cards i am sure he will get an email id, unless we dont appreciate and encourage our heroes, no one will ever think of giving their best at olympics. Indra...even if he gets an meail id..i am sure he wont keep in touch with hypocrites like you!
