the real reason - the batons were of poor quality, Chinese ghatiya maaal....no doubt they were made in china, the chinese runners were used to not to dropping them. Everyone else dropped them.

Agreed. But remember that the listener also has to be mature enough to appreciate somebody's honesty. In India, if you take the blame, the people will ask for your head!
