is not bad at all, even though we would've loved a podium finish. But this shows that Indian boxers are capable of big finishes. As the interest in the sport increases, so will the determination of the boxers. I am sure some corporates will now seriously start looking at sponsoring some of the boxers as they have performed consistently. Best wishes for the future.
In this bout the better one Won.Akhil was more like a street fighter than a boxer. His opponenet was more tactical ,with good boxing stance and defensive postures.Akhil's overconfidence was the minus point.Still i feel he progressed well.Good wishes in future competitions
It was heart breaking to see you loose. However, we take note of your achievements to get this far by beating two champions enroute to the quarter finals. Its always disappointing to see you miss the medal by a whisker. Knowing Akhil, he must be heart broken. Remember, the nation is proud of you and your achievements, coming from a humble background and limited facilities to train.
akhil you have made boxing more popular in india. actually we need more infrastructure for sports activity. because what is needed for sports is regular practice in world class competitive environment.
