Congrats to Phelps, this was expected.Our Indian Media should really stop aping whatever the western media says and have to do some research and question before saying Phelps is the greatest Athlete or Greatest swimmer.
If Mark Spitz had the technologically designed swimsuits helping the aerodynamics he would have easily beaten Phelps.This guy had to face no challenge lucky for him Ian Thorpe got retired.
Swimming is just the same thing repeated like 100m ,400m medley,freestyle etc...It doesn't take much effort for a swimmer like Phelps.The real athlete is is one who demonstrates his skill in Track and Field now thats challenging,takes a lot of effort.
Like the Great Carl Lewis once said quoting Mark Spitz "If I could run side way ,Run backwards even I could win 7 gold medals in a olympics it was no big deal"

Do u even know what you are talking about? Each of those styles require great deal of practice and application of brain. It is not just brute force. Phelps is a versatile athelete, able to adjust himself into all different forms of swimming be it relay or individual or medley. That is his greatness.

Sriram, I agree with usualrhetoric. Carl Lewis won 100/200/Long jump events to make his Golds. Not the same as 100,200 fly and breast.

I think you don't know swimming, different types of swimming or you don't have respect for such sport.
You must be having same thinking towards shooting and weightlifting events too.
First educate yourself then talk. You have wrong information that only track events require great endurance and skills.
Phelps, you did the best, and we are proud of you!
I'm just curious if there are any gays or bisexuals among them. According to the investigation from the online service *BiLoves c o m, The Netherlands, South Africa, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Spain are the gayest countries.

that's kinda good and bad......good coz he'll b India's pride....bad coz India can't feed her growing population....836 million live @ Rs 20 per day.....and such incentives to Phelps wud b unfair considering that.....in US being poor = having a house, getting pension from government...working at a Pizza shop lol
