a swimmer has got many options to get the medals to his tally. to compare swimming medals with that of other sports is like comparing runs and wkts in cricket. a batsman can overtake score, say 100 or even 200 runs (in odis, say). but a bowler cannt take more than 10 wkts in an inning. batsman getting 100 runs.
so, swimming sports is such that there r many events which can fetch u a medal unlike other sports. so dont compare a swimmers' medal tally with that of other athletes.
what kind of sportsperson he is. people think of 2-3 in olympic. but this lad is really mad abt. gold. the kind of performer he is makes him one of the best sports person i saw.
After he retires he will confess that he had taken performance enhanching drugs like many other former olympic medal winners from USA like Carl Lewis, Mariane Jones etc. They are masters at keeping this all a secret until retirement.

Carl Lewis was not a drug cheat! for all we know the indian bloke who won gold could be a drug cheat too.. my point is not to point fingers until the facts come out
what is the value of an olympic medal in the cosmic sense? in my view, nothing. lets set our thoughts higher and look into better things like finding the meaning of existence.

oops i changed my mind,,,an olympic medal means you are the best on earth in say, running. it means there is no one better than you are.

What is your value for this world in the cosmic sense? Have you contributed in any significant way to your motherland or bought a good name to her? In my view, nothing. So stop telling nonsense and do something useful rather than criticizing other people's hard work and achievements.
Out of 106 crore prople only 50(approx) participated in olympics. Even how many of us have choosen sports as career. Please appreciate their participation insted of criticizing them

In that case, in Cricket, when India lose in WC in the first matches why don't we think the same way? KK participation is very important but wining is much more important than participation.

v dont want to compete with china in that case. in fact, china population growth has been reduced unlike india.
Best solution is to reduce population, have determination, try atleast to stop corruption and important thing is that govt funds alloted for athletes should reach them, this is what we read every day in Newpapers. Stop pulling one another leg and seriously need to avoid politics in games, in this way one who deserves to attend the games will definetly win.
