Here some people say cricket did not use any government money and come up with its own. If you can just look at any cricket stadium in any city, they are all built with government money.All the stadiums are built with government money/public money whetehr it is eden gardens of calcutta or wankhede stadium in bombay. They use government police whenever matches are held. They are waived crores of entertainment tax for using the government stadiums. Then they say BCCI is private concern and that money earned using government resources cannot be shared by other sports bodies. Atleast doordarshan is showing olympics, commonwealth games or asian games, Private money mongers ESPN or Ten Sports will show only cricket where they can earn money by ads and thats it. I agree public sector support towards sports is pathetic, but how much money has INFOSYS or WIPRO spent towards sports in this country????
if india has to win more medals in olympics then we should reserve 10% of reservation for sportsman(other than cricket) in jobs and education.Nextly in army they should give special traing and army men who are good in sports should be given special leave and special benefits.China and U.S Spends lots of money in training their athledes and sportsman.
How many of you can watch weight lifting or swimming continuously for 2 hours? Watching weight lifting is such a torture. These olympic games have no relevance to entertainment. They are just there to show physical power. For that I have a better idea. Try pulling a hand cart loaded with iron bars for 7 miles as our poor mazdoors do for a living.
Lots of people on this forum appears defending cricket passoionately as if it is their won game!I request these people to come out of their mindset and take cricket as just another game with no international recognition. First thing is to generate national feeling among ourselves!Sports are no more played only for enjoyment...rather to prove yourself,your country into this challenging world.China has spent billions of dollar to dominate the world in sports areana..because they want to progress and show the world their might! We indians are content playing cricket and living within our self generate false pride that we are great people or at least not less than anyone! Unfortunately Cricket will never earn us respect in world scenerio. Those who blame govt for non spending are also right in saying so!Govt must take sports as challange as every political party seems claiming high growth rates,success of IT or championing the cause of lower casts & minorities. We need to focus on these world class sports such as boxing, marksmanship, etc. The military should be producing athletes as well and not putting resources into silly world records like having 20 soldiers on 3 motorcycles (or whatever that thing was a few weeks ago).
Does anyone know how NRIs can donate money to organizations which will help to turn out more Olympic athletes?
1) How many countries are involved in cricket? Do you really consider it as a world cup? 2) Give me a name of any sport other than cricket in which people play for 5 days and then say that There is no result. 3) I think there are many sports which requires better skills than cricket. You cannot just go for cricket because you can play it anywhere. 4) You said that you can play cricket anywhere, then why dont they play cricket only on street. Why to use ground for 5 days? 5) Do you think Olympic organizers are fool? Why dont they include cricket in Olympic? Because like gully danda very few countries plays it.
Cricket and Kabaddi , India will not win any one Olympic medal if included.

To answer some of your questions, I would like to know, how many countries have professional teams of baseball, softball or beach volleyball? So yes, Olympic organizers are either fool or at least biased. About five days and no result, well that is the rules of the game, there may not be any such sport, then how do you explain about 22 men and only two can use hand? That is because that is the rule of the game. You don’t like it, don’t watch it. Not all sports have a result at the end. Otherwise there would not have been a thing as a draw. Also like an aberration in football is extra time and penalty shoot out, so is the aberration in cricket as T20 and ODI, which do not go on for five days, in case you do not know.

do u know how many games included in olympics? do u know how many countries are participating in each games? do u know which are the top five games got more supporters? do u know how much peoples watch the live telecast of twenty twenty world cup (cricket ) ? (india won the trophy) which is more tough :cosentrating in five days or in one or two or couple of minutes ? do u think that olympic orgenisation is fool to not include the cricket in olympic after all world see what achived through 20-20 world cup by financialy and also by the number of peples watch it live ? one thing u know the most peple watching game is foot ball engkish premeir leage but the twenty twenty got double of it india can get gold bharath matha ki jay

We want to include cricket not because it deserves to be in olympics but we think we have got a chance.So we are looking for that victory.That one gold.Cricket has made many indain people crazy.No lady is going mad after other sports persons in india but cricketers.Doing filty things in public.We do not know even know how to be sporty.We do not want to compete with better or best when it comes to other games.Because the fear of losing is there and cricket gives us hope of winning.So we should be thinking about the other sports also which are lagging behind just because of our ignorance.All parents want their kids to be Dhoni or Yuvraj.No one wants them to be milkha singh or P.T.Usha.They were the real heroes of India.If you got anything more to say then i am here Mr.
