he has been awarded khel ratna, the highest sports award. award of gold is above all.
WHERE WAS ALL THE GOVT MONEY WHICH IS NOW BEING GIVEN IN REWARD TO ABHINAV ,BEFORE THE MEDAL WAS WON ???
Abhinav won solely on his own effort,skill,money. Our politicians only have dirty name-joining politics in their minds that is why govts from all sectors are encashing upon this opportunity.
2 crore till now has already been awarded to abhinav .... why not invest this money in opening up more shooting ranges or hiring the best Shooting coaches available for our other national champions.
being realistic .... Indians can (if trained rightly) emerge as world power in shooting and boxing by the next olympics ( 4 years is a longgg time ) ..... lets just focus heavily on these two areas only and gradually develop other fields too.

agree wd u. money was given to BINDRA only after he won, if the governing bodies spend money on training then may be other players could have brought laurels to the country as well.
We all siddhanthi's congratulate Abhinav for the greatest achievement by an Individual sports person other than Vishwanath Anand , who stamd in the smae bracket.(Chess Player , yes we have to mention it, other wise 99 % of Indians may not have heard of him)Our only wish is this is the biggining and over the years we will see more winners.

Agree, congrats to Bindra but stupid govt gives it after somebody achieves on his merit & no monetary support prior to games to any upcoming sports persons.Remember whole world is watching & we r celeberating for a "single Gold" & looks like we are going to be content as usual.Moreover spoiling them with gifts wl make them complacent & may never see them in the next olympics.The irony is that Bindra has a rich background & trained by an European coach & not an Indian....

ABHINAV UR A SHARP SHOOTER,PLEASE COME BACK TO INDIA AND SHOOT ALL THE CORRUPT POLITICIANS..ALSO SHOOT SOME OF INDIAN CITIZENS WHO ARE NOW UR FANS AS THEY WILL BE THE SAME PEOPLE WHO WILL ABUSE U WHEN U WILL NOT PERFORM..

OTHER FUNNY THING IS HOW MUCH U FANS EXPECTED FROM CURRENT CRICKET TEAM BUT THEY NEVER WON WORLD CUP AND PERSON WHO WAS UNKNOWN WON OLYMPICS MEDAL..SO THIS SHOWS THERE IS LOT OF UNKNOWN HIDDEN TALENT IN INDIA
