I am a Chinese Citzen who happens to have a few friends of Indian origin.I like India as my neighboring country which is also an ancient civilization. I found too much finger-pointing and anger among the comments here. I can understand the feelings. But don't get carried away by the extravaganza of the Beijing Openning Ceremony. China doesn't reach here in one day, it worked many years and sacrificed tremendously to prepare for this event. I am sure India's turn will come one day, maybe in 20 years if not sooner.Not winning many medals is not because Indian people are inferior,it is basically the lack of participation and systematic training for Olympians. India can focus on a few sports, such as tennis and shootings to win medals as a start, and expand to other areas as the country grows.

No . Like all indians i am extremely weak. I only have strength to type on computer keyboard.
Anjali Bhagwat has been sent thrice to the olympics. As claimed by IOA the best shooter has failed to win thrice (including 2008). So the fact is India's best is no where near world BEST. If we have to win we have to raise the bar. we cannot ponder what to do just few months before Olympics. It has to begin 10 yrs ahead. These sports should be spread across every village, every town and should be made bigger than crivket. More money needs to be pumped in to lure people . Or else I dont see any hope. We can hope for the best...but we should not be doing that all the time....thats my point.

I feel Like Crying when i see .. yesterday's Olympic.When i Compare with india,, where are we.. and where they are.. we have onlt 57 althe and china has more then 600.In 2010 ..India is hosting Commonwealth games... Till now they have not constructed the statium..you see when heavy rains in delhi .. how it is ...Even god can not repair india..bec of this corruption and seculism,,, politics etc...

giving comment is easiest think to do. What U R doing to improve the condition of INDIA Mr Ravi.Go n join politics, failure or success it depend on luck but atleast you should try at one's then comments on others.Beacuse we all are part of that corrupt system.

I agree With you,Firstly.. India has to have President's rule under kalam.Like USA...Under President Rule ..They has senator means Highly educated persons or advisor from each state .I thing then india can change .I am True Indian .. Ready to die for my Country .So that .. we can prevent politics and seculism .. all this bec of status .. Like mp.. minister..Not completely but some thing can change.. even china is like that ...

This pondering over the olympic fiasco is once in four year exercise. Everybody including media will be charged shouting over their heads that we need to do something...but this talk would die its own death in about a month's time...then we will again go back to same routine. China prepared for so many years and then started conquering the olympics, I have no doubt that this time they will win max number of medals
Kalmadi tell me are u fit for this job. U have no physical structure to fit into the job of sports official. Hath jodtha hum pl vacate your position and do some farming job in martha region.

But so far Kalmadi is not sacked. He is still sticking with his chair after contineous failiure. What Happened to Monika is sufficieant to indicate cause of Indian sports debacle.
