Voila! Its delightful to see the richly deserving, humility personified, supreme warrior called Rafael Nadal sitting at the TOP of the rankings! Nobody else deserved it as much as this down-to-earth, uniquely gifted Spaniard. And for all those babbling tongues who advocated his expertise being restriced to one surface (read as clay), his answer could not have been more befitting! He has arrived and has won millions on his way... and shut up a few too! :) Way to Go Rafa... This King is gonna reign for a long, long time!

Well said! I'm waiting for the Rediff.com Fedex fans association to begin the nonsense.Where are they by the way?
Finally, all Roger fans can rest in peace with a clear knowledge that Rafael has arrived in the scene and how!A true champ has emerged, the hard way, working patiently and with solid determination. While I like Federer's cool game,I knew it intutively during the last year's wimbledon finals itself that Nadal will emerge the new world champ. He has the fire in him to carry on for a few years and in that process beat many veterans' records incl the greats like Borg and Pete the doggy sampras!Already Nadal has earner 4 french open and 1 wimbledon titles. He's only 22.in next five odd years he goes on to win even two championships every year (which is more or less assured; French clay is his forte) he will beat Pete's record. Cheers to Nadal, the New Champ on the horizon and my fovourite!

Hey, rightly put. You would have the Fedex fans jumping on your comment. Although I wouldn't bet on Rafa being around for 5 years at the top. Unlike Sampras or Federer, Rafa's game is very physical, which puts a lot of stress on his body. At this young age he has already suffered injuries. People like Federer are quite elegant & they conserve a lot of energy while playing which makes them last longer than the players who are more physical in their approach. Let's see how Rafa goes from here. So far he has been awesome.
