good game

It was really unlucky that he lost. He was the better player. He lost just 2 points on serve that last set and unforunately one of them was in the tiebreak. Number 1 is probably gone now but he can get it back.
The way Nadal is playing, he will get no rest for Olympics and if he does well there, his knees will probably blow out in the USO. Its a extremely tough schedule.

Chelsea, r u cursing Nadal?

Be the lover of tennis not Fed.

If you expect young Nadal to blow out then what do u expect from old Fed?

Think again!

It looks like Fed's days are over.

All these days, we were thinking that it is OK for him to loose once in a while. But, Fed is loosing consistently.

I don't know, if it is physical or mental.

Time to hang the boots?!

Try to follow Henin route! Win a championship and retire. Now, it seems to be too difficult for him.

entomologist.....it looks as if your words are true...and we are probably seeing the beginning of the end of an era...which will be remembered as the 'great' roger federer era...saying that i am not discoounting out that he wont win any other slam...he might well win 2-3 more slams..however the dominant and invincible fed era is probably over....however....although it pains me to see that perhaps the best player of all time is in doldrums right now being a truly fed fan..it was bound to happen one day.....but being a baig fan of fed...i hope he comes back well in the us open and has a good run..

Nadal, U deserve to be No. 1
by amit tiwari on Aug 01, 2008 11:03 AM  | Hide replies

ofcourse Fedrer has his own class but unlike him, Nadal dosen't depend upon his serve as well as Serve-Volley game rather he has a complete ground coverage and classical base line game. Fedrer couldn't win Roland Garros just because of the same reason. Nadal u really deserve to be no-1.

Hello Amit,
Federer was not no1 player for nearly 5 years just by depending on Serve, serve and volley. It is base line game, his court coverage and all the things which you can mention about tennis.

nadal on the other hand is good baselinr player but not serve and volley player. Can he do sustain pressure to be no 1 for long time..No Immpossible..everybody knows that.
Being a feddy fan its better for him to have some rest before he starts off again..

I Agree with you Anoop,
Federer is probably one of the finest players the game has ever seen. Its just a delight to watch him play. And yes, he has the perfect all round game which has seen him at the top for the last 41/2 years. He does not have to depend heavily on his serve, or volley, or raw power to see him through. His baseline game, court coverage and mental strength are his forte.

FedEx, you are a true champion!!!

To cut the argument short I think both of them deserve credit to have given the game of tennis great encounters and wonderful matches. Roger had his time its Rafa's chance now, but I guess it will neck n neck b/w the 2 great. Cheers ROGER... RAFEL...
