This talk of Islam as a growing religion is very false. They need to introspect and find out the living conditions of muslims. More than 90% of muslims all over the world are under abject povery and vey low literacy.

yes ofcourse ...people love to live in muslim dominated area...but no body wants to live near a temple ...or any hindu dominated area because of the CHANDA they have to pay for every so called festivals...GANESH CHANDA,DASERA CHANDA,HOLI CHANDA etc etc ..

Dear Yunis, if u hate Hindus so much, then where was ur dignity when u decided to stay back during partition.Why didnt u leave us in peace. Does a Liberal hindu polulation give u the dare to spaek against them and plant bombs etc etc. When someday vote bank politics die, ur ungrateful community shall vanish too...
Islam as a religion and muslims all over the world need good leadership who can guide them in a better way to get accomodated in the multi cultural, multilingual, multi religious world that is ever becoming smaller because of technological advances.
The main fear amongst others is the adamancy of Muslims consideing only Islam is the true religion and their ways from pre historic times to convert others to their religion by hook or crook. Every individual wants to practice his own faith and enjoy the freedom of conversion as per his will. Manu muslims do want to change their faith. But they are not allowed to do so. Many muslims want to bring out the true stories about Islam. But for fear they can not do so. Salman Rushdie is still living under fear for writing the truth. The fatwas from Muslim Ulema make the life of free and independant living muslims the most miserable.
The big talks of Islam as a growing religion is a myth. Allow the freedom of conversion and see hordes of muslims will come out of the prison called Islam. Mainly the women who live their life below human dignity. A small utterance criticizing Quran or Quranic verses and the man is in danger of his life. Islam is growing in this fear.
Second reason is their producing capacity. Every man marries four women and every women produces minimum five childre. Thus one man creates minimum 20 new muslims whether he is able to feed them or not. Others take responsibility of their children restricting to 1or2

Mandar, it is evident you are a racial bigot & frankly you have very limited knowledge of Islam. Surely, Islam needs no defending but India does! Your ignorance & one track mindedness yet again, sullies our nation's image as a Hindu dominated nation which hates it's Muslim brethren. Luckily, people like you are just a few & majority of Indian non muslims do not share your ideas or ideologies. You are requested yourself to please come out of the 'pre historic times'.

the global religious break up of communities in percentage. last time I checked hinduism and Islam were at 13 and 22 % respectively, with high growth projections for both.

Though I cannot give you an authentic source, according to my knowledge (obtained from various sources) the break-up is: Christians (all denominations) - 33% Muslims (all sects) - 17% Irreligious atheists - 15% Hindus and followers of other native religions of India - 12% Other religions: Rest
Probably you can get some info on this from Wiki also. The growth projection has no real meaning as such.

Mr reddy please read also this in africa it is presumed islam is going ot vanish everyday 10k people convert to Christianity's how come so huge number leave islam if it is right this is not cooked up this is fact
