You are so twisted.. No where in the line of logic of B Ramam did he give Aamir's religion as a guaging parameter. What Aamir did and Ravi did is definitely not in the right spirit...
Why do you always have to see everythin in the myopic angle?

Outsourcing for Torch Relay?
by bharat on Apr 15, 2008 01:48 PM  | Hide replies

Kenya is famous for its long distance runners. Why did they have to outsourse the torch relay to a foreigner like Ravi Shastri?

ramya, for your information most of the so called Omanis national are basically Kenyan, Tanzanians or from other African countries, like Burundi, Cabinda, Uganda, Rwanda & Congo.

The Oman football team is crammed with Africans & so is the police force.

You got to live in Oman to know as to how multi racial the country is.

Ooops! You are right! But Oman not have enough locals for their torch relay? Normally, it is considered an honour to be a part of the torch relay and countries are keen to involve their own well known personalities in the relay.

Would there not have been a hue and cry in India, if say, we had invited Richard Gere to run with the torch?

Impressive thought...

I was also one among many cheering the torch relay and what touched me the most the thoughtfulness of Oman Govt to select one Expatriate the torch bearer as the representative of expatriate community living in this beautiful country. Why Shastri? Indians are the largest expats and cricket is the most favorite game of this community!
Three cheers to Oman Govt and the Olympic Committee for organizing peaceful torch relay.

The ship Shower - copter rounds - cheering people - all so well.

Nay sayers will always have problem due to their mind.

And lastly- event was very well organised.
